Me, too. His relationship with Buffy was what made it. His insecurities made him incredibly flawed, which, in turn, made him more of a character than just a poster boy.

I love that it was shown like that. He was presented as this perfect idealized post-awkward-stage Captain America and then went through a complete Winter Soldier deconstruction.

It is no wonder they didn't end up together. He was Captain America and she was a mixture of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Kitty Pryde. Ironically enough, Scott ended up with Emma (similar to Spike) and Kitty broke up with Peter (similar to Angel).

hey, i’m well aware of how lucky i am. like, lottery lucky. buffy’s like nobody else in the world. when I’m with her, it’s like I’m split in two – half of me is just on fire, going crazy if i’m not touching her. the other half is so still and peaceful… just perfectly content. just knows: this is the one.

Sweet moments. I don't care about the hate bandwagon (still don't get the OTT hatred towards Riley but when your always talked about that shows alot. I mean he was even brought into a Dawson's Creek discussion on here recently. Indifference is the real killer to pairings, shows, etc.) I loved Riley/Buffy.

You would think with the popularity of Captain America people would update their opinion on Riley. He is so much like Steve Rogers.

Those were some of the things he was accused of being. Old fashioned and soldiery and not liking how grey the world is.

Looking at those gifs, Riley is everything that Angel wanted for Buffy.

I hate what happened in season 5. I'm pretty sure Peggy would still love Steve without the added bonus of government upgrades to his body.

We needed more seasons of BtVS. Delay the events of season 6 and give us more Briley. What would have happened between them if Buffy had caught up to his helicopter before he left for South America?

They fit in so many ways. He was a high school football player (I'm guessing, he did mention driving 4 hrs for high school football games). She was a high school cheerleader. He was in grad school majoring in Psychology. She became a guidance counselor. He's very chivalrous. She's very girly. They both have formal combat training.
