I just rewatched Nightmares 1 x 10 and Giles’ scene at Buffy’s grave broke me.

1x03 also kills me. When Giles think he's about to lose his Slayer after only weeks of knowing her.

He fights so hard to get to the bottom of Amy's mom's magic to lift the spell.

Also Buffy's "Guess what? I'm feeling better."

I liked Giles in those episodes.

Giles only ever got on my nerves during season 7 and I think that was mainly due to bad writing

^Same. The writing was so weird with the last minute 'he's not The First' changes. I also don't blame ASH for wanting to be with his family more and film less by that point.

Me either. Nor do I blame SMG for wanting to move on and end it and do other things. Seven years is a long time, especially with the grueling hours they put in, holidays, weekends... It wears on you.

Also I would rather them end it on a good note than end up being one of those shows that just drags on and on and is remembered as the show who should’ve been put out of it’s misery

Giles slapped in the face with the reminder that while she is the Slayer she’s also a 16/17 year old girl.
