My Cordy in the fic actually comes off in a positive light. And she said some really funny things. I think it is because Fred thinks highly of her.

two good Cordy parts from my fic.

“I get it. Believe me. I’m just surprised that this particular thing has never happened to me before. I've known a lot of people who are attracted to those that are”, Cordelia paused, searching for the right words, “foreign to what they are used to.”

“It's just that I've only ever dated Texas guys and--”

“Exactly! Texas guys”, Cordelia said. “You see this amazing and incredibly gorgeous person that is not from Texas or a--”

“I think I'm in love!” Fred exclaimed it so suddenly but genuinely. “Oh, Cordy, I’m in love!”

“Shh! Shhhh!” Cordelia looked almost sick with sympathetic embarrassment for Fred. She craned her neck to see if anyone overhead them. “Everybody doesn't need to know. In fact, no one should know. I’ll forget. You’ll forget eventually. Way down the line.”

“But, uh, all the lingering looks, the smiles, helping to save my life, the feelings have to be mutual. I can’t have been the only one that was feeling this. I just know that I wasn’t the only one.”

Cordy groaned in uneasiness and a little bit of annoyance. “It's called friendship Fred. You are very sweet and I guess some would find you attractive.”

“But I’m not attractive enough?” Fred sighed sadly but then felt determined to prove her potential as a girlfriend. Maybe with Cordy‘s help she could get him to notice her. “I could change. Or be a better me. I tried to dress better. Spend more time on my hair.”

“Some make-up couldn't hurt. The Pollyanna pigtails are a major no-no”, Cordy agreed. Then she shook her head and said, “but we are getting off track. The crush needs to end.”

“It’s more than a crush”. Fred was certain of it. Her heart was sure. “I’ve never felt like this before.”

“I have no doubt. How could you not be in love?” Cordelia was practically beaming. “I mean, you're probably thinking that beautiful face, that perfectly toned body, that winning personality"

“It's love”, Fred replied dreamily.

Cordy smirked and raised her eyebrow as she added, “And lust. I bet there is a lot of lust.”

“And with the love and lust I should go for it?”, Fred asked. “Just plunge right in?”

Hearing that made Cordelia nearly choke. She was starting to feel a little bit light headed. “Say what now?”

“I should look the person of my affection in the eyes and say”, Fred declared boldly, staring into Cordelia’s wide and almost horror-struck brown eyes. "I want to be with you".

Cordelia Chase let out a piercing scream and fell to the floor.

Ten minutes later.

“You faked a vision?”

“I didn’t have a choice!” Cordelia shuddered as she remembered her conversation with Fred. “If you’d been there you would have faked a vision too.”

“I sincerely doubt that,” Wesley replied. “Whatever the reason you felt the need to--”

“I think that Fred may be a big fat lesbo!”

“I’ve become the Queen of Bargain Hunting” Cordelia held up a silk blouse with a wistful smile. “In the old days I’d buy something similar to this for what it would cost to feed a third world country”.

“But you know better now” Fred said. "Clothes don't make the person."

“I’ve matured acres since my SunnyD days as a spoiled rich bitch”, Cordelia admitted. “But I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t miss the wealth.”

“You are rich in other ways now” Fred wondered if Cordy got how unique she was. “You help save the world.”

“Yeah, and only the week by week cases are for a fee”, Cordelia joked. “The yearly Big Battles are always free of charge”.

That is when Fred noticed a lacy dress that was so similar to a cover on one those romance books that it was almost uncanny. She walked over to it and checked the price. She felt silly wanting to get it because it reminded her one Wesley’s fantasy women.

"Kidding aside", Cordelia said. "I miss the old me. I miss my car. I miss being able to buy what I want whenever I want it and never having to look at a price tag or buy something off of a rack"

There was a lot about Fred's past that she missed. She knew that she too was a stronger person now but she had lost so much of the good things about herself at University and then those five years in Pylea. There was nothing wrong with wanting to feel like one of the confident and beautiful women from those romance books. "Do you think this looks okay?"

Cordelia looked over at the outfit that Fred held up in front of her. "Yeah, if you are Slutty the Sea Bride".

ok i had to laugh at loud at the cordy parts

and like you jaime i found fresl toy be extremely dull, what made me hate them besides it having to do with my most hated buffyverse cast member was the way they were built up, i mean she chose someone else over wes not once but twice nothing romatic or even intiguing about that to me. also the whole wes/fred/gunn thing helped to ruin the fang gang (by fang gang i mean a/c/w/g)
