Angel has a personality on his show.

I honestly see none of BTVS except when he was Angelus.

That’s so weird.

I’ve read meta about how maybe he was seen as broody and ~mysterious on Btvs Bc it’s told/seen from Buffy’s POV and that’s how SHE saw him and on AtS you see more of his personality Bc it’s his show/story. But that’s not good If Buffy couldn’t see his actual personality

Not sure I believe that about seeing it from just Buffy's POV.

Angel had times we saw like when he was turned by Darla in Becoming to tell us more about his past on BTVS.

Eh, well, it was just a meta I read I never really scratched the surface on Angel past what I saw on BtVS.

Angel was really just Buffy's boyfriend mostly on BTVS.

This is why Bangel partly could never work long term b/c they couldn't grow as char. together.

Spuffy & Cangel had such amazing growth together through the years & made each other better people.

Bangel weren't thought out at all even early on the only thing they had is the chem. between SMG/DB that fizzled to me by Season 3.

How many time did Bangel go through this loop about being together?

I was a casual viewer at this point & Bangel annoyed me.

Especially in season three I was just like where is this going????? Besides saying ILY and having the title of boyfriend/girlfriend they didn’t really do much? It was a roller coaster like most 1st loves are. I don’t think even all Soul mates are meant to be romantic. So Angel may have been someone Buffy was destined to meet and to love, but wasn’t meant to be with forever. And that’s okay, too. I just don’t think they could hold on to that “love story” when Angel went off and did his own thing on his own show and idk why they hold on to that narrative that is WAS.

Unless it’s bc the BAs are just so loud everywhere that they feel they have to. Which.... *insert eyeroll here*

I’d much rather watch a love story where the two people learn to grow, both together and separately and make each other better

I love this, so early on before anything with these two was planned. Everything with Buffy was angsty, while Angel & Cordy would make eachother smile.
