Board Customization
 

Hi everyone :wave:,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website. As we want every board to have their own unique look it is preferable that you do not link to the customisations of other boards as suggested colour schemes.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us :).

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Chelle, or Rora a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes approximately two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have finished making the graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

With BSB's new album coming on January 25th, we're hoping for new photos by then, so this might have to wait until at least next Thursday or Friday. Not sure when the new photos will be released. :nod:

As for colour schemes. I would love something bright but not too bright!!

Yeah, definitely keeping the photos to within this year.

That's a nice color scheme, Millie. I definitely agree with some sort of blue tones.

^^ I love the blue with the burnt orange and yellow featured in the scheme I suggested.

I do love this photo of them, but with new ones on the horizon, I hope we get them soon because even though the photo below is the most recent of them, Kevin has since cut his hair. :nod:

Is there a preference for a blue board or a brown board? With that colour scheme I see more of the brown shades (& only one is soft & easy on the eyes) so for me I'd focus on those shades with blue highlights. But I feel from your posts you'd rather blue be the focus? I feel like the 3rd, 4th, & 5th colous in the scheme are going to be harsh so would be used minimally or would at least be better used minimally

Its a shame about those pictures. If I'd known about it I would've swapped this board with one of the other new boards even though its been permanent for a while now. Hopefully something turns up before we're done though :fingers_crossed:

Do they have individual pictures? I don't know if this site is of any use for you :) Here's the shoot your pictures is from. I see unfortunately those individuals are in b/w
Is there a particular order or anything that the band members should go in?

Think only thing would need to discuss is color :lol: cause only have to worry about the band members

What about this photoshoot [2017] in case if we don't get a new photoshoot before album drops

Trying not to go back too far but also came across this photoshoot [2015] [only the first page individual cause think any others on other pages are low quality]

Truthfully :bubble: probably 2015 photoshoot over the 2017 though but than that out-dates it right away :look:

Here hopes that a new photoshoot is dropped within the next week to go with the album release in a week on the 25th :look:

That's all I found pretty much for photoshoots for individual without going too far back :wiggle: so stopped after reviewing 2015

I personally was thinking brown :look: no idea why I associate brown with the boys but that's what I was thinking :shrug:

This is a palette I created of preferred colours, based on the original I posted: BSB Colour Palette

I really like the first two colours from the left the tan and gold and added hints of blue with the peach and soft purple.

The point is I'd really like it not to be so one toned specific on just brown or blue but a blend of both with the gold accent and additional colours in the background.

This is the most recent photo and the best option to use based on the selection as others are black and white and won't work.

The one Sarah suggested could work but does have hands up in faces which can be annoying but could be used.

I'm with you. I like the multi-tones. Blues and tans work well and fit the boys.

I always defer to images to the graphics team since they're making the banner. Whatever is best. The boys look great, so I'm excited for anything.

Thanks for that Jackie.Of course if we do get new images, I will try to post as soon as possible. Simply for the fact that Kevin has cut off all that hair, so maybe we choose one photo of Kevin with the shorter hair if we don't get a new shoot?

I never said anything about a one toned board? I was simply confused by your posts as I got one opinion looking at the colour scheme & another opinion reading your posts. Plus I need a starting place as if you really like blue then I'd give you a blue base, if you really like tan then I'd go with those shades, ect. The additional softer tones from Millie's colour palate will help to make the original suggestion less harsh on the eyes too :). By "highlights" I generally mean bars, buttons, links, ect. Sorry for any confusion there

Jackie you are the one who knows the band & pictures so please post your opinion instead of leaving it to the team. For example, I for one have no idea who the BSB even are so I'm not someone who should be making a decision like that

Are you sure you'd want a picture of one of them from 2015 with the rest from 2018 just because of hair? I'm sorry but hair changes frequently. There's no way in keeping up with something like that

I’m fine with the group shot I shared as it’s their most current. And you’re right hair changes. Unless you have a photo, photos in mind too Jackie, please share!

As for background I like the idea of it being the tan and the bars being the blue with the other accent colours however they’re placed.

What are your preferences Jackie?

Might have to consider that 2015 photoshoot :shrug: unless the hands from the 2017 are workable than just have Kev's from 2015

Here are the individual from the 2015 :shrug: I would consider them if we don't get a new photoshoot within the week or deadline for banners doesn't allow for new photohoot

I just think might have to consider the 2015 due to how not that many individual photoshoots and the pictures are not that bad -- have the boys really changed that much over the last few years? I just think the quality is better than the 2017 :look:

There are no hand issue in the recent pictures which Millie posted so using recent pictures is no issue providing they don't mind whatever Millie's been saying about hair :)
