I think Dru made everyone's life in Capeside less "dull" whether it was in a good way or bad way. Jen needed someone like Dru who understood her from the old days in New York. They both began to realize their lives had changed (for the better) in Capeside.

Dru definately livened up that quaint little coast town when he rolled in, didn't he? I liked their relationship towards S4, when Dru got honest about how much Jen had hurt him while they were in NY. And I like that the show did examine Jen's NY past as more than just a mention here and there in the first few seasons. In a strange way, it seemed that Dru's presence somehow got Jen to confront her past.

I agree Jen did need to confront her past in NY. She seemed much happier with herself once she faced it all and was able to move forward. It's too bad we didn't get to see Jen and Dru in season 5.

I definitely agree with both of you

Drue might have been an *sshole in the beginning but towards the end of the season, viewers saw different side to him.

That's very true.

I wish they had Drue for another season or drop by during the gang's college days.

I think I'm still bitter that Drue wasn't in season 5

I can't believe it's been seven years!

I think if Jen and Jack had gone to school in NY instead of Boston, he probably would have been. I think it would have made for some serious Jack/Jen/Drue drama because Jen would have gotten close to Drue again and Jack might have been more on his own. Who knows though, right?

I loved how they turned out in S4. How we found out that Jen had really hurt him in the past and that he was not so flippant with her for no reason. I think it showed a flaw in her character but we also saw her learn from it and apologize for doing what she did to hurt him.

I agree, we would have gotten to see a whole new side of Jack but I would always want Jack and Jen to remain friends. Jack, Jen and Drue together would have had some fun times. How funny was the scene where Jack was talking on the phone with Jen and Drue came to the door and told her Jack fixed him up with her for the prom? Jen had this OH MY GOSH look on her face and poor Drue just looked SOOOO HAPPY to be taking her to prom.
