Some lucky person just randomly saw Michelle and Ryan filming:

An innocuous trip to the liquor store to grab a bottle of Grgich Hills chardonnay turned into an excellent adventure into movie making this past Monday afternoon at the Clarks Summit State Liquor Store. Turns out Ryan Gosling — he of The Notebook and Remember the Titans — and Michelle Williams — she of Brokeback Mountain and Wendy and Lucy — were hanging out in the parking lot, shooting scenes for the latest movie being filmed in our beloved area. When I happened upon them, the Hollywood A-listers were in between takes from filming the romantic drama Blue Valentine, a 2010 movie where the two play a married couple trying to halt the break-down of their relationship by remembering the early days of their romance. And although a major movie production was going down in the South Abington parking lot, all the shops in that particular strip mall remained open as curious customers bustled in and out with their wares. I heard it from the wine store grapevine that the production crew showed up at 5 a.m. to begin filming and were still going strong when I arrived around 5 p.m. Spoiler: Michelle and Ryan were both on set and the scene they were shooting entailed the couple exiting the liquor store with a grocery cart filled to the brim with bottles of alcohol. For the plotline, Michelle had to struggle getting through the door while Ryan did nothing to help her with her burden. Once in the parking lot, she alone packed their van as Ryan jumped in and just waited for her to finish the cumbersome task. So in other words, Ryan plays your typical man. Anyhoots, the scene must have been shot at least 20 times and remarkably, the public just sat back and let them do their thing, not interrupting or begging for autographs or grabbing Gosling around the neck and sticking their tongues down his velvety throat. OK, so maybe I thought about it — a lot — but I did manage to control myself, however only after uncorking my purchased varietal and swigging it straight out of its crinkled brown bag. Once again the movie stars proved adorable to surrounding fans as they signed autographs on everything from t-shirts to pizza boxes for tickled-pink passersby. Who needs L.A. when a simple trip to the liquor store turns into a celebrity encounter of the most sublime kind. Why I just can’t wait for my next Blue Valentine encounter.

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams were holed up at the Radisson Valley Forge over the last two weeks while shooting scenes for the film Blue Valentine, in which they play a couple flashing back on their marriage. Gosling cut his hair and added a mustache to look older. Last week, Williams was seen limping around the hotel, as she had cut her toe while filming a fight with Gosling. Making things all better for Williams were skin sessions with Judy Kim from 3000BC WellMed Spa in Wayne.
