Well, yeah. It would take something hugely catastrophic to make Alex not interested in Isabel (although he was pretty upset when he thought she was just manipulating him to make him keep quiet about switching the blood and covering for Max............ )

Alex would do just about anything for the people he cared about, but that didn't mean he was willing to be treated poorly or lied to.

True - Alex was even more likely to stand up for his friends than for himself.

While there's no way Alex liked being put into "friend" status, I don't know if I'd say that Isabel treated him badly. Except for Heatwave, she didn't play games with him or try to hurt him. She tried to be honest with him (even if I did wish she was able to get over her issues and get with Alex quicker, that wasn't something she did to be mean to Alex).

See, even though she did hurt Alex with her instant flirting with Grant, and I hate it, I still don't think it counted as treating Alex badly, because technically, they weren't dating or anything. Again, I think it was thoughtless but not deliberately mean. Which is a big difference I have with Alex/Isabel and other couples they've been compared with. Like over in OC, I remember there being lots of comparisons between Alex/Isabel and very early Seth/Summer. Which I could never agree with, because Summer was deliberately mean to Seth many times when they started off (I liked them later, but at the start of the show, I was not a really big Summer fan - she grew a lot as time went on). And I never had that sense with Isabel. I always felt she was trying to protect him (and herself), and that while she did hurt Alex, it was never her intent.
