For the second time this season, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's deceased Denny will descend from heaven to have a heart-to-heart with his Earth-bound soul mate, Izzie, sources confirm to me exclusively. ABC declined to comment, but my Grey's mole says Morgan will appear in the Nov. 6 episode. What brings Denny back this time? I could tell you, but then Shonda Rhimes would kill me and, well, you'd all be up scoop's creek. Instead, I'll leave you with this tantalizing clue: Something happens in the episode that could easily set the stage for a Heigl departure at season's end. I'm not saying it will; only that it could. Honestly, I would freakin' love it . Don't get me wrong I'm an Izzie fan, but I feel as a KH fan she has a lot more to do than being confined to a declining, bloated GA :shrug;. Katherine has so much going for her, and I also think ABC needed to bring the buzz back to the show for Nov. Sweeps.

GA is suffering in the ratings, promotion, and practically everywhere else. Everytime they use all their resources they bring Katherine's name. I'm actualy all for Katherine in leaving because that means more movies she can do . I never thought Katherine leaving rumor would end because ABC needs it, and who's to say behind the scenes there was some agreement with Katherine and TPTB. I can see her storyline in 5.07 as a plan B if The Ugly Truth does very well at the box office(remember we are in the age where even A Listers aren't making good box office returns now). Like i said I'm all for it being a KH fan, and I don't want Izzie in an emotionally destructive relationship with Alex.

I'm a KH fan too and I want to see more movies of her but I cant think about GA without Izzie on the other hand yes ABC does it for promotion for example ITA with this comment

I don't think Katherine is going anywhere. Grey's is doing badly in the ratings so they are trying to drum up some media coverage and "Is Katherine Leaving?" gets them that. If they want the ratings to improve they need to stop with the stupid storylines such as bringing back the dead.

Actually, bringing back the dead improves GA ratings . For an example, compare S3 "Some Kind of Miracle" and S5 premiere(the episodes Dead Denny appeared) ratings to the ratings of last night's episode. You'll notice the difference . Everytime...everytime...they bring back Denny, and there is a Dizzie scene the ratings improve to some degree. There is bigger promotion and buzz. The current storylines are obiviously not cutting it ratings-wise, and Denny is a fan favorite . I can totally see why they would bring him back. It's common sense to me . Every episode that has aired thus far in S5 had been declining in the ratings. One airing at a time. Moreso than other tv shows that are currently on, and GA has lost their demographic twice thus far. Having Denny and Dizzie scene in Nov. Sweeps might actually help the show rating-wise. Who knows for sure, but they are definitely starting the promotion now so peeps take notice of who is returning and possibly leaving the show.

Do I think ABC and GA TPTB are once again using KH for promotion? Hell yes because the other storylines aren't cutting it for national buzz. Which is something we seen many many times. KH has been getting national coverage for several years now, so ABC and GA TPTB using her to get buzz and news again is no surprise. They do this like clockwork when they are in a runt in the media buzz. Far as we know KH isn't leaving, and as an Izzie fan I wouldn't mind that either . In the end I'm fine if Katherine is coming or going . I just don't like the abusive relationship Izzie is in with Alex is all . Everything else in regards to Izzie's character, and where her storyline is going(excluding her relationship with Alex) is still interesting to me.

I used to hate the idea of her leaving, but now since I don't/won't watch Grey's Anatomy, it'd be nice to see her in movies and if she leaves GA she can concentrate on them.

Although her character has lost fans since Season 1, I think she's still really popular - or at the very least an important "piece of the puzzle" and it will hurt GA incredibly. But that makes me wonder how hard it will be for her to cut ties with them.

Honestly, I'm quite use to it since it's been non-stop since S2 . Since there are so many valid reasons/senerios for KH departure every season it seems lol. As stated by myself and many there is a good chance KH isn't leaving at all, and ABC/GA is merely using her again to attract media attention. Which is something GA desperately needs at this point before Nov. Sweeps.

It depends because ER survived without George Clooney afterall . I think when any significant character/castmember leaves it affects the show to some degree, but at this point IMO GA has already sunk pretty low creativity-wise compared to ER or The O.C.(this one is debateable considering what they did to Marissa's character which is very similar to the recent development of Callie Torres) . I'm really not seeing a big of improvement, but in fact worse developments for the characters especially in regards to Alex, Callie, and Derek. For me only one episode I have truly liked on the show this season was 5.04 "Brave New World". Maybe if the quality was good, then I might have a different opinion. My point is the future of the show now is already at risk even without Katherine leaving due to poor overall storyline quality(at this present time) and declining ratings.

I agree on Izzie still being very popular, and is getting back in the good graces of critics as well. Ausiello makes it seem, speculation-wise, that this storyline is planned. Which I think it is since at the TCAs ABC President and Shonda mentioned her big storyline, and it didn't fit the puzzle pieces of Alex being Izzie's big story . We knew Alex/Izzie was coming, so there is no reason why I thought the ship would be Izzie's big story. Whatever happens in 5.07 "Rise Up" for Izzie sounds very career like for her character, and that's what I think the big storyline will be about. The LVAD storyline basically connected to everyone since nearly every character was involved in some fashion from helping Denny to covering up the incident. If so, then could be a mutual agreement between KH and GA TPTB on letting her go. That Izzie's career storyline could be her exit storyline. Hence the reason why we see all these new characters from Kevin McKidd to Melissa George coming in to ease the transition of KH leaving for season six. If the storyline was thought out, then it could be a mutual agreement. Which has been known to happen from time to time. Who knows for sure, but if Katherine decided to leave then I don't blame her due to success out of GA and GA's own decline. Even Ellen Pompeo can't wait until her contract is up (e.g. Allure Magazine).

on the other hand falling rankings are most of the show's destiny like Lost,Ugly Betty and killing of a character usually effects badly on this process yeah maybe ER survived but Las Vegas couldnt for example

I want GA to end in season 6 and I still want Katie to end the entire series
