Katherine in Roswell: Episodes Discussion Thread

I thought we needed one of these. There are two or three (depending on whether you count the third season ) whole seasons of Roswell for us to talk about again, which we've been neglecting lately. Since Roswell is how many of us came to know her... well, lets relive the good times.

You choose an episode, AlexEvans, and maybe we can discuss it, okay?

Once the Sci-Fi channel starts airing the episodes, I think we'll have plenty to discuss. You know, like how underused Katherine was in the first two seasons

She got way more plot in either of the first two seasons than in the last one, actually.

*sigh* Evil meany Jude is making me pick an episode... *sigh* how about "Heatwave" ?

Great ep, lots of Isabel, and I still think those red PJs are her best look ever.

I just meant that they could have done more with Isabel during the first two seasons. If you compare season 3 to the first two seasons, we got more Isabel in the last season, screentime wise

True, but beautiful as Katherine is, I'll trade Isabel screentime for an Isabel plotline (and accurate characterization) any day.

Exactly.

Let's see...Heatwave, huh? Well, I liked this particular episode, especially with the dreamwalking sequence with Alex, which I thought was touching and sweet. And on a purely shallow note, Katherine looked even more stunning than usual in nearly every scene of this episode. Loved the blue sparkly top when she's all flustered and blushing while being questioned by Max about her dreamwalking...the red dress was stunning...and even when she's painting toenails, she looks nothing less than gorgeous.

It's SO not fair.

It's been awhile since I've seen that episode, but a bit that stands out in my mind is the look on the real Isabel's face when she sees Alex's dream. She's amazed by his feelings for her.

As an aside, she also looks darn gorgeous in 'Heatwave'.

Loved Heatwave . Dream scene so cute between Alex and Isabel . Pissed off that there was no kiss but I'll live . Loved the Outsider scene after the dreamwalking . I watch her face and it is just classic . Didn't really enjoy the whole Alex situation at the soap factory . He was mean to her and Isabel was trying to get close to him .

About her look ... didn't like her hair in the dancing/dream scene . She looked amazing with the pj's though .

Scarlett!

OK...let's go with another one from first season. How about 285 South? (Refresh your memory here. [Total unshameless plug, if I do say so myself! ])

LOVED her scene with Liz in the Crashdown during the personal history questions. Who could forget "Your favorite flavor is vanilla??"

Hmm...I thought she was woefully under used in Season 1, although her character had more of an edge which was nice. They watered Isabel down too much for my liking after that. She lost the biting sarcasm and strength of character - particularly in Season 3.

However, Katherine was given more opportunity to shine in Season 2 and Season 3 and I thoroughly enjoyed her screentime. She performed magnificently throughout and made even bad episodes good to watch.
Head and shoulders above the rest for my money.

Ooh, 285 South.

Jude, I loved that comment about the ice cream. Scarlett chuckles at the thought of it. I like the scene where they're at the rest stop and Liz tells Isabel she's the "Elle McPherson of the sophomore class," and Isabel answers with the quip about answering the question about who Liz envies. I was very pleased with that last line, for some reason.

I liked it when Isabel, Max and Liz come up to Michael and Maria's room and Isabel has no scruples about using her powers to get into the room.

Thanks for providing that link, Jude. It refreshed my memory.

Oh "Heatwave!" I love that ep, thanks for bringing it up Jude.

One of the best episodes of Roswell. Really demonstrated KH's acting and expressiveness, advancing a real plot. And the pj's scene... nobody has ever looked more beautiful. *sigh*

I still feel cheated that the last scene was yet another M/L are we/aren't we thing. It was an A/I ep and we should have gotten the ending... Isabel could have explained to Alex how she'd been going to tell him... and maybe we could even have gotten a kiss.

She was great in "285 South" but I have to get some sleep now.

I love this quote from that episode;

Isabel: The perfect Liz Parker lying to her mother?
Liz: At least she knows what species I am.

Hey, even the Ice Princess deserves to be put in her place every once in a while.

"285 South" was great. So funny, for the reasons people have already pointed out.

Wish it had had Alex (which would have led to Izzy playing a greater role) but "285 South" was still fantastic. Besides, it created so many fanfic opportunities!
