Just to bump this thread, here is my review for RM.

Quote:
Okay so its finally my turn to review the film - apologies in advance for the poor grammar and for the tendency to go on and on about nothing.

To summarize in one word I would call it an "okay" film. I actually had to watch it twice because I couldn't connect with it the first time round. I think the mistake I made was to read the original script "memoirs" first as I had a slightly different image in my head. Once I got past that, I quite liked it.

The opening scene with Ally and her mother, who, blast from the past, I believe was in the Goonies?... anyway the subway scene was very intense and grabbed my attention instantly (this is rare for me). But then I felt it dragged on a bit. Maybe Ally should have been introduced earlier or something but overall I felt around 10 or 15 minutes could have been cut.

However I do think Allen is a fantastic director. The film had great camera angles, realistic sets and top-notch performances from all the actors. Yes, some parts weren't perfect but they all did great. I particularly liked the father and child confrontation between Chris and Emilie more than Rob and Pierce. In my honest, unbiased opinion, their scene was more intense and Emilie held her own against the legendary Chris Cooper.

I have never been a fan of the Twilight films but have to say Rob was excellent in RM. A nice surprise! I much prefer him in this role! He seems a genuine nice guy and had great chemistry with both Emilie, Tate, Pierce and Ruby. I shall in future watch more of his films provided no vampires involved.

Just a few things...
Pierce Brosnan always plays the same character to me but still a good actor.
Accents?? according to the commentary, TPTB amended some of the none American accents which were missed during filming.
Also according to the commentary from Allen, Emilie often starts her sentences with "err" which they edited out after thinking they wanted Ally to sound more certain of herself being a cops daughter and all.
Music was great - I believe chosen by the same person who worked on Roswell.

Emilie was brilliant, her best performance so far. Not once did I think I was watching Claire, not even tough Claire or High Noon's Phoebe. A new character and she pulled off the tough cops daughter quite easily. I think it was a great learning experience and I would love Emilie to continue working with these well established directors and actors on her next projects.

3/5 from me

Here is the review for OE that i posted on my blog.. It is almost the same with the comments i have previously posted here:

Hello everyone! As i told you in another post about Operation Endgame, i saw the movie i wanted to write a review about it in order to share it with you! You can read it bellow:

THE MOVIE: I think it was a good movie (not a masterpiece) and it could have been released in more theaters. There was a lot of mystery and action in it and i was curious to know what is going on from the beggining to the end... There was a lot of voilence and blood too but i was prepered for that so it wasn't a problem for me... The main drawback of the movie was the plot! The characters were not developed enough and the comedic ones weren't "used" enough as well. They didn't have a lot of lines and the movie was an action film and not a comedy. This doesn't mean it was not enjoyable but i think with such a strong cast they should have done more. Moreover, i thought the movie was kind of sort. If it was longer i believe that some of it's problem would be solved and the actors would have more screen time to show their talent! Furthermore, i don't know what to think about the end. It wasn't that bad but some things weren't explained enough. I would like to watch it again with subtitles in order to understand it better but i am still not sure if i liked the end!

EMILIE'S CHARACTER (HEIROPHANT): I think that Heirophant is my favorite character from the movie.I would discribe her as a creepy-cute creature! To be honest i was kind of afraid of her in some scenes.. Emilie was amazing! I think it was one of her best performances so far!! Whenever Emilie was in a scene i had a huge smile in my face, i was kind of proud of her because she was doing sth completely different from what she has done so far. Heirophant was nothing like crazy Claire. I thought that they were gonna have similarities but there were two completely different crazy people! And that is great because Emilie could have just done what she did in Lost! And i am extra happy to write these things because Emilie is almost unexperienced in the comedy gerne!! I also loved her accent. Whenever i heard her talking it was like watching True Blood!

So, even though it is not a perfect movie and has some flaws, i enjoyed it and i recomment you seeing it! You will have a great time and if you love Emilie, you are gonna love her in this film too!!! Her role is something Em has never done before!!! I am sure you will be amazed by her. She wasn't the lead actress of the movie but her role was much bigger that i first thought!
