I wonder if she is gonna do any movies next summer. I've heard that the actors might go on strike too. I really hope that doesn't happen.
I want it resolved too so she can do something during the hiatus. I like that when she does do movies, she has like 2 at a time coming out.

she did Ball Don't Lie and The Perfect Game last year. They may not have come out yet, but those are still movies that she did recently.

Why would the actors strike this summer? What reason could they have.

Just like the writers' contract was up a couple of months earlier, the actors are now getting ready to negotiate their own new contract. Actually, I think the industry can't afford a second strike so soon after the first. So I guess they will benefit from the writers' efforts and get a similar deal without much of a strike. I hope.

what benefits do they get? private planes, 300 thread bedsheets.

I don't know if they have cause to complain about anything

They don't have a reason to complain to tell the truth. Most of them are so overpaid in the first place.

I'm glad the writers got a better contract because it's outrageous if you think about how little they earn from dvd sales or internet downloads.

Actors, however, IMO fall into the category of everyone else from the director to the make-up department - and I don't think they deserve more or as much as the writers. On the other hand, if your show makes millions for the studios, it's unfair if the big bosses don't distribute the profit. Everyone working on the show should get more - not just the lead actors.

I don't think Actors should fall into the category as the production crew. Production crews work just as hard as the writers. I used to work on one. We are there 3 to 4 am in the morning setting everything up and have to be there the entire time everyone is filming and then taking everything down again after it's finish. Sometimes the production crew don't even get any sleep...they are up 48-72 hours getting one scene down to another. It's really hard work. The Make-up department, depends on their job....sometimes it's just a touch up, other times it's doing special effects which takes hours on end.

Let me guess... The crew get paid the least and have to listen to the actors going, "Oh noes, I've had a ten-hour-day!"

I have a lot of respect for the crew. They deserve all they can get. Actors...I can see if you're a character actor the contract/strike may be important, but if you're Tom Cruise or Julia Roberts STFU.
