Well, this Snow White is more based on the story Snow White and the Huntsman than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It's not the Disney version of the story. Alot of the fairy tales are dark and that's waht they are using.

To give a short answer: Yes.

In the oldest recorded Versions known Sleeping Beauty gets a piece of flax under her nail which pricks her and puts her to sleep.
Years pass until a Prince comes along and finds her. But he doesn’t just kiss her and she wakes from her sleep. Nope!
He has sex with her (or rather rapes) and impregnates her while she is still comatose. She only wakes up deepening on which Version you read from the pain of giving birth to twins or because one of her newborn Babies sucks on her finger looking for Mother Milk and the piece of flax dislodges.

And the original Little Red Riding Hood is a Tale of Cannibalism and implied Bestiality with no Happy Ending.

Actually all the stories had some dark element to it. I mean, Snow White wasn't the pretty Snow White and the Seven Dwarves story, it was Snow White and the Huntsman's story really.

OUaT goes by the darker tales than the Disney tales. They mix the two but it is darker than Disney movies. Snow White does have a Prince Charming but the EQ is more powerful than most of the bad guys in the movies.
