My fear is that she won't be allowed to work at all while waiting for Lost to call. I don't want her to just sit on her ass, doing nothing so we don't get to see her at all.

They would be really stupid to pay her a lot of money for doing nothing...?

I'm biased - but I honestly believe it's a mistake to put the Claire/Aaron/Jack/GhostDad story on hold. Right now, there's a lot of emotion, suspense and mystery. And from what I've read on message boards almost everybody loved Claire's creepyness in the cabin and Jack's devastation at finding out about his sister. (Which is awesome because a lot of people hate every little thing Jack/MF does and have to be reminded of who Claire is. Sawyer's popularity has also risen beyond the love triangle crap because of his friendship with Claire and Hurley.) Why drop this plot until January 2010? It has been working in favour of the show so far.

I agree. The Claire/Ghost Daddy etc storylines are what people most want to see explored, not the dumbass triangle story - that is something everyone wants to see end

They should take advantage of creepy Claire since everyone loved her. People were very impreessed how Claire can go from sweet to weird and the producers should take advantage of Emilie's acting range.

And finally people remember who Claire is. If they hold off on her for over a year they may forget her again or simply not care.

That's a "Talent" deal basically. NBC sees a talent they would like to have but don't have any new ideas at the moment. So they would sign that talent onto a deal that they will star in whatever series comes across their desk. It's their way of "reserving" that talent before he/she gets snatched up.

Now did someone mention that someone got a "hold" deal? It's more of...an actor being on hold. They do get some payment but not much. They are free to do other projects but if they call them back, they MUST make time to come back. It's mandatory. They basically reserve that actor as well...but on a lower paying scale. The actor is already on the series...but has to come back when called to come back.

it's the holding deal that Emilie is supposedly getting. You know, if she gets to star in some good/big movies with well known actors & directors I won't complain. This may benefit her. And since Lost will end in 2 years she should start securing her future movie career.

Ah cool thanks for the explanation, been trying to figure out what a holding deal was. So if it is Emilie who is getting the hold deal, now I know what it is. However, until we get a confirmation from a proper source, I won't say anything on the subject.

She just have to uphold her contract when they need her back, they need her back. She's got to make time to come back, whatever she's doing.

even if she's busy playing Alice in Wonderland.

I will be so sad if Emilie doesn't get that role.

Yup, pretty much. TV/film people are lenient about letting their actors off at various times when schedule permits.

so it sounds possible she can do both if she's able to work out the scheduling of it...

Oh, absolutely. It's up to her on going on the auditions and stuff for other things, but she's free to do other things...she obviously is since she's doing that movie with Johnny Depp.

I hope there are more gems like Public Enemies in her future.

Is it Thursday already? After reading the spoiler synopsis for the finale I just want to get it over with...

Spoiler:
There has to be a lot more than a predictable on-the-freighter death, a royally stupid coffin reveal, no Claire/Christian, and a freakin' actual frozen wheel?!!? Pretty please?

At this point I don't even care about the Lost season finale. The show has disappointed me too many times with the Claire stuff.

Oh, the Lost Season Finale hasn't happened yet? I guess Grey's Anatomy took over the time slot last week since they ran over 2 hours.

yea, Lost's finale airs this week and it's 2 hours. They're also showing last weeks ep beforehand.

So...Emilie said on the Opie & Anthony interview that she had a day left of filming (and this was before she got the finale script). So I guess that means no Claire in the finale
