I feel if Des could find a way to keep Charlie alive AND get everyone off the island he would've done it. It's not like he let out an evil laugh and said "wooohooo I am so going to kill Charlie"

and I think the only reason Claire is safe is because Jack has to find out about her. After that she may be disposable.

I just don't see them killing off Claire because she has Aaron. Plus I really do think there is more to her than we are going to see right now, like she's a bigger part of this and this is why they dont show her or give too much of her history just yet. Because that would give it away. They have for every single one of them but her, yet. I'm still waiting to find out why she was swimming in her clothes...

Yea, I guess they thought Emilie should never be in a bathing suit...

and I hope you're right to why Claire is given nothing. Maybe she holds the key to everything and they're waiting for the last season to show it. Still, that's uber annoying.
I don't know if Claire having Aaron will matter to the writers. Because if she does die then that will give the writers free reign to show what happens to him if he's "raised by another"

Actually I think it turns out better if Claire stays on the islna.d Jack already knows getting off the island was a mistake.
plus, Locke/Sawyer/Claire is much more interesting than Kate/Jack/Juliet IMO :o
I just hope we'll see as much on the island as off, so it won't be like early s3 where we only saw Kate/Jack/Sawyer.

My new pet theory is that Aaron is the reason the universe wanted Charlie dead. Sometimes, he used to be obsessed with parenting the little guy and overruling Claire in her decisions. His creepy behaviour could've been a nice character arc if he had overcome his issues and had grown out of it. But it never went anywhere... so maybe the universe was afraid of Claire getting degraded to secondary parent?

I agree, the prophecy said Aaron couldn't be raised by another. The island might have just been taking care of that.

I never know with Lost. They say one thing and then they do something else. I would say no one is safe on that show...doesn't matter who they are or what they could mean for the island.

I think the only reason she chooses to stay behind is because Locke makes a convincing argument about the dangers in the real world and she doesn't want to put Aaron through that. OR maybe the psychic's words are thought about and she feels like in order to keep Aaron with her and safe, she needs to stay somewhere remote :shrug;

Then again, the trailer makes it look like the new boys don't even try for a very long time to play friendly rescue crew. So maybe the question is not why Claire, Sawyer and Locke stay behind - but rather why and how certain characters get to leave. Sun and Jin I can fully understand - but Sayid?

I guess Sayid wants to leave the island to look for Nadia [what? he still remembers her?], but Hurley is the one I'm more confused about, seeing as he thinks his off-island money is cursing him and his family. Maybe staying on the island is too painful without Charlie and Libby. But I was looking forward to Hurley/Claire bonding scenes

Vincent is still around...so I guess he will be the lone survivor.

I'm not sure about Charlie though....I mean, he looked after Aaron only during the times Claire wanted a break. Otherwise, he was off doing other things...because he had more screentime than Claire and he wasn't always with her in those scenes.

I hope Locke survives, I like him also, I could honestly do without Jack and Kate but we know that won't happen. Although many beleive certain people are safe, the only people I can 100% say are safe is Kate and Jack.

So does that mean

I'm assuming Jack doesn't find out about Claire until after --- or maybe he won't even find out about her until he returns to Lost island.

I just see him as the type to force Claire to leave the island with him if he were to find out beforehand

he might try and force Claire to leave with him but I doubt she would allow him to make the decision for her, all the characters I like will still be on that island, at least 3 of them
