I just have to say that here: i love the pics of her. Can anybody tell us more about the movie? can we see her often?
And did anybody talk to her? Wow this is so exciting. I hope it was okay that i started a new thread for her!!!!

I haven't seen Brick in our Film Festival lineup but my man, Viggo will be there. Yum. But still hoping for Brick news. I want to see it now rather than wait!

At first I thought they were talking about the Venice Beach Fest in SoCal but, no, they mean the Venice Film Festival in Italy. Neato. I wonder if any of the cast *hint hint* will go. lol

Critics pick 'Brick': U.S. indie will unspool in Venice sidebar

ROME -- U.S. helmer Rian Johnson's film noir tribute "Brick" will be among seven first works from three continents unspooling at the Venice Film Festival's 20th Critics Week.

"Brick," a Sundance standout acquired by Focus Features, is the single U.S. entry in the sidebar.

The other competing titles are "Asi," by Jesus-Maria Lozano (Mexico); "Kuihua duoduo,"Wang Baomin (China); "Mater natura,"Massimo Andrei(Italy); "Le Passager," Eric Caravaca (France); "Pavee Lackeen," Perry Ogden (Ireland); and "Yadasht bar zamin," Ali Mohammad Ghasemi (Iran).

The Venice Critics Week entries reflect "personal and political tensions, which transcend ... current events, such as war or terrorism," said Francesco Di Pace, the section's curator.

An audience jury will judge the Critics Week prize. In addition, all entries in the sidebar are eligible to compete -- along with pics in Venice's official selection -- for the E100,000 ($121,000) Lion of the Future award for debut director.

Critics Week is run by Italy's National Union of Film Critics, SNCCI.

The 62nd Venice fest will run Aug. 31-Sept. 10.

We're honored out of our skulls to have been picked as one of seven films in the Critics Week section of the Venice Film Festival.

This will be the first public screening since Sundance, and hopefully will kick off a round of festival screenings both in the US and abroad.

i feel like i'v been waiting to see this movie for forever. i an't wait til it gets a major release. what is focus features waiting for?

Yeah, it's been forever. I'm just happy that we're getting to see this anywhere at all.

I hope Focus Features puts up a website and trailer sometime soon.
