There is a difference between expressing what you like and don't like than coming into a thread and saying "Bangel/Spuffy/Cangel sucks, I hope they die and I don't see how anyone can like them together!"

I did some research about the ratings right now.

Seasons 2, 3, and 4 were the best ratings wise. Season one did pretty well considering it was a midseson replacement (based on a movie that was 'silly') on a network that was still developing. The average rating shot up from a 3.7 in season one (which is equal to or more than some of the most popular shows on the CW now) to a 5.2 average in season two. Season 3 and season 4 were both around there and the success of season 4 is obvious with all the buzz with the Angel and all the crossovers.

Season 5, 6 and 7 were all in the 4 million bracket, season 7 being the lowest of those three. Not surprised, b/c after season 6, I'm sure many lost interest.

I just find it funny that even Buffy Season 1 got about twice the ratings than the shows on the CW do now. Buffy Season 1 was treated horribly by the WB affiliates too. I remember the Season 1 finale being at like 10:30 at night...yet it still found an audience and buzz for such a little network. The only reason the CW survives these days is through Internet buzz and Itunes sales, not ratings. I doubt they'll ever be able to replicate what The WB did for 10 years.

I'm not surprised about S7 getting the worst ratings. I hate that season so much

I think because season 5 was pretty good and so people tuned in for season 6. Then, I think some people gave up and didn't tune in for season 7, which explains the slight dip in ratings.

I actually like season 7 (not including the spuffy stuff though. That was the worst, even over their season 6 stuff for me) I enjoy parts of season 6, the last arc of the season was very powerful.

Its just a very different show to me in those later seasons.
