Yeah, since they updated to the new software and the menu bars are so close to eachother it happens to me. Before that, the Manage-Menubar was on the other side of the page, or in the middle...I don't remember...anyway the first day with the new software I closed like 4 thread or something because I clocked on the wring button

yeah, we're crazy people here!

So, how was your weekend? I spend the whole time at home being lazy and watching TV or reading. It rained non-stop(actually it still hasn't stopped) and I just didn't feel like going outside...

On topic:
Have you guys ever had any Maria moments? I mean where you felt like Maria, or where something Maria did happend to you?

That is so true!!

My weekend was spent blobbing, until I worked!

I worked Friday and Saturday night (I work at a bar) didn't get home till late. Spent the morning's sleeping in, and spent Sunday arvo taking my younger brothers to see "Shark Boy and Lava Girl" in 3D!

Well, lets see.
Friday-
1) Baby name-My husband & I changed her first name from Karina to Cheyene. This way people don't get confused & think that we are talking about my great-grandmother when we're really talking about her.
2) Found out my sister-in-law will definitely be taking over for me when I go on my vacation after the birth. She's a sweetheart for doing this.
Saturday-
1) I got freaked out when some people came onto the property. It was just a few neighbors, but still. I don't like it when someone does that without calling first. It scares me & makes me worry.
Other-
1) The kids now call us by the right names & have been walking for a month.
2) Works going pretty good. The new editor is beyond what I thought she was going to be like. Still a few headaches, yet they're not as bad as they once were.
3) Next year, we're hoping we will get to go somewhere else besides the United States.

I, too, work in a bar. One that's at a night club & the other in the bar area of a restaurant & bar. Every Wednesday, I work at the restaurant & bar from 12-6pm, get home at 6:50/7:00; every Saturday, I work at the nightclub from 6pm-3am, get home at 3:40. Sundays are spent reading manuscripts, working on music, time with the kids & husband & every Sunday, going to a friend's brunch.
What bar do you work at?

Other than these tidbits, not much has been going on.

I didn't realise you worked at a bar as well!

Mine's just a little hicksville (Featherston, next to Martinborough) bar. It's got a restuarant/conference center, and the main bar itself. Then on top of that, they're planning on turning the upstairs into a backpackers/motel/managers flat as well. It's pretty big up there, so they can fit all three in. So it's going to be busy busy!

I do, I listed it in my profile. I've been working as a bartender since I moved to California for school. My niece used to say I'm like Michael. I've been watching & learning how to make drinks since I was young, taught when I turned 13. It's sort of a family career to be a bartender. All my cousins, from my father's siblings, & I can bartend. When I moved to NYC & a few months after I got a job at the publishing company, I saw a 'Help Wanted' sign at the restaurant & bar & went in to interview. I've had that job ever since. In May of last year, I got the job at the nightclub. I haven't always had the hours I do now, but they're close.

I grew up in Wellington, the capital, so it's hard living here.

Yea, it's a pretty big place. Been around here for years, but it shut down for a while, and new people took it over, and did it up. They're the people i semi-work for. I work casually there, there's no full time work available, not even part time. I asked, but they didn't need anyone unfort. It's a family business as well, not my family, theirs. So I'm like, the outsider and all that!

That must be hard. You could always come work with me.

I have a few unfair advantages at the restaurant & bar and at the nightclub. Most people think I should quit both jobs. After I worked at the restaurant & bar for a year, the place went bankrupt. My dad bought it to help me keep the job.

At the nightclub, well, my brother & I own it. Actually, I own it, he's the manager. He originally owns it. When he turned 26, he bought a building & turned it into the nighclub, but then after I graduated in 2003 & moved to NYC, he put it in my name & became the manager.

See what I mean.

Yes it is a slight problem!

My mum was rapt when I told her I'd been offered a job, and then I said there's only one problem, and she asked if the job was in Auckland. I was like, "worse. America!" and she just cracked up laughing at me!

I'd love to just move to another country with virtually nothing. I think it would be awesome, so romantic! But I'm realistic enough to know it would be difficult. I moved down to Wellington with everything I owned, including $600. I moved back home a year later because I was struggling so badly.

It is. When I moved to California, I didn't take much. My dad & step-mom were living there & could have helped me out, but I had decided that I was going to do everything on my own. After a while, I ended up going to them for help. I didn't think realistically when I made my originally decision. That's why when any one asks me what to do when they move to a different place, I tell them to do the exact opposite of what I did.

Tell Bethany not to worry. I get it all the time! I sarcastic by nature, so half the things I say come out sounding sarcastic, even when I don't mean for them to. And being online, not being able to hear tones and stuff just makes it so much more difficult, so let her know that I'm not upset at all, kay?

It really just makes the situation worse, when you realise you have to ask for help. Like you, I didn't want to ask family or friends for help. But it got to the stage, where I was missing soo many meals because I didn't have the money to buy food. Didn't help that my flatmates were unreliable about shopping, so I never knew whether I could count on them to have done their share. There was a couple weeks there where my boss started making me take money off her, and paying her back at payday, because I just wasn't able to eat as well as pay bills, and rent.

Neither of my brothers are like that. Sure, they love making people laugh, but it doesn't get that far. They know when to stop.

But I take it you guys are doing all right together so far?
My dad can't believe it, but yeah, we're doing great. He's the one sibling that I almost always get along with. We fight every now & again, never about business, though. We respect each other's decisions & opinions and that's why we, somehow, get along with nightclub business.
