ITA. Too bad the writing was a bit inconsistent and sloppy. I appreciated showing Lisa's dream of what would happen, closely followed by the reality. However, the blowing up of the whale to move it, was just done in such poor taste.

OMG. Jack & Jill? I used to *LOVE* that show. Never saw how it ended though. Wish it was coming to DVD or something.

The exploding whale is a reference to a real event that happened in 1970 in Oregon.

This was another sweet episode, as they often are when it's a Homer/Lisa episode. Nice to see Homer try and be a good dad. Well, other than the "unwanted moron" line directed towards Bart.

I loved the couch gag, as well as the South Park shout out in the chalk board gag.

Also loved the bullies keeping the whale wet by kicking water at her, CBG's Shatner joke, the Tic-Tac-Toe movie preview and Homer's "you used to be nicer" to Flanders.

OMG, me too! I never saw the 2nd season and I found it online recently and watched the whole series again and now I'm obsessed! It's probably better if you never saw the ending, it ends on a rather depressing cliffhanger for J&J because the show was cancelled.

Okay, sorry for derailing the thread. I agree the episode wasn't the best but I forgave them because of the great Homer & Lisa moments and pretty artwork. The Tic-Tac-Toe thing was pretty hilarious. I love when Bart and Lisa watch TV together too.

Yes, it was Homer to the rescue...sort of. Oh my gosh, just like Homer to get hurt and bleed with sharks around.

Aww, I saw this thread too late. I would've watched tonight if I'd known they were re-airing this one. I think last time I had to watch it on my laptop.

That was funny how the different Shatners "appeared" as the corset gave way.

Homer: "I'm trying to be a sensitive father you unwanted moron!"

Omg that was so funny.
