"Smart and Smarter" -- 2/22 discussion

from The Simpsons Archive

Smart and Smarter (FABF09)
Simon Cowell voices an interviewer for a pre-school that Homer and Marge are trying to get Maggie into - but when she gets in, Lisa doesn't take it particularly well.

Note: This Sunday, the ep will be followed by "I, D'oh-bot", originally aired 1/11.

I LOOOOVED this episode.

Henry: Great. That just made your IQ the same as a dolphin.

Homer: Hey! I got that right too! Bahhhh wwaaaaaa hhheee haaa..

That was my pathetic little dolphin noise.

I loved how Simon did the credits.

SIMON COWELL
Great! Now there's a name who knows talent!

ENDING WHERE THE GUY GOES SHHH.
Simon: Oh shh yourself.

I thought that last night`s episode was very funny. It was great to see another episode centered around Maggie. Plus seeing Moe and Barney as the house butler and maid was hilarous. As for Simon, i have to say that he was pretty funny, especially when he was talking during the credits.

There was a black and white scene with Lisa and Maggie. Maggie was in a wheelchair. Wasn't it a parody of a movie, maybe with Bette Davis?

It was a parody of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? starring Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. It was very well done parody, which was a great fit for the episode since Lisa`s jealousy of Maggie was much like Jane`s jealously of Blanche.
