Post your Simpsons questions and requests HERE!

Group participation time!

I'm sure we've all had questions about The Simpsons, but were too afraid to ask. So here's your chance. This isn't like a trivia thread -- the trivia game thread is further down the list . If you have a question about The Simpsons, go ahead and post it. And one or more of us will try to answer it.

For example...

Rod and Todd Flanders - which one is which?

Carmen, are you referring to how Homer's mom appears in her first episode compared to her second episode? Or that she was different in a single episode?

I've seen this asked a few times, "Which one is Patty and which one is Selma"

Also, 'Where is Springfield?' which is such a common FAQ, it has it's own thread

Hmmm...I know Patty and Selma wear different earrings but I can never remember which one wears which,so that really doesn't help, eh?

I think Patty's the one with the round hair and Selma the one with it cropped. And I think--I THINK--Selma's earrings are shaped like 'S'es.

Yes, that's right. I always tell them apart by their earrings. The S is for Selma, or so I've always been led to believe. But who really knows? And Patty's earrings are triangles, I believe.

Hmm...I'm sure I have many questions, but none are coming to mind at the moment...

I have two theories, Carmen.

1) The animators forgot to check her appearance in the first episode so that there would be continuity.

2) Homer's mom is a fugitive. She would need change her appearance so she'd be unrecognizable.

I was watching some of the commentaries for Season 5 DVD, and I had no idea that Conan O'Brien was a writer for the show!! I knew that he wrote for "Saturday Night Live." He wrote one of the best episodes imo- "Homer Goes To College" LOL! When Homer sets his GED on fire and does the "I am so smart. S-M-R-T!" HILARIOUS!!!!!! That's classic!!!!

Does anyone know what other episodes Conan wrote??

I believe Conan was writing for The Simpsons just prior to Late Night.

I looked on www.tvtome.com - these were the ones I found

"New Kid on the Block" - Bart has a crush on his babysitter, but she likes Jimbo.
"Marge vs. the Monorail"
"TOH IV" (co-wrote)

He also made an appearance in "Bart Gets Famous"

Which season/episode is the one where Homer is in a barbershop quartet with Barney, Principal Skinner and Apu?

It's called "Homer's Barbershop Quartet", from season 5. Currently out on DVD!
