Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore- 4/9 Episode Discussion
From The Simpsons Archive
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore (HABF10) Mr. Burns outsources the power plant to India, and, thanks to a lucky bouquet catch, Homer is sent there to train the new employees, but when Burns puts him in charge of the plant, the employees treat him as a god; when Richard Dean Anderson mistakes Patty and Selma's "MacGyver" convention for the (much larger) "Stargate SG-1" convention next door, he badmouths MacGyver, leading Patty and Selma to kidnap him, but when he performs an escape worthy of MacGyver himself, he realizes it's the most exciting thing he has done, and insists that Patty and Selma keep him trapped so he can keep escaping. Note: This was last week's episode but decided to make a thread for it because it was a recent ep and when it aired FF was offline. I loved this episode so many great scenes __________________

I thought this episode was soooooooooooooo HILARIOUS!!
I loved when Homer called Lisa about the cow and was like, "He took my I-Pod and I punched it" then he started making out with the cow. __________________

Sounds like a good episode. Unfortunately, I was at a Blues game - they retired Al MacInnis' number.

Everyone worshipping Homer was funny, yet scary, like that huge statue of Homer's head and they all wore the blue pants and white shirt.
And the whole thing with Patty and Selma kidnapping MacGyver was priceless! Loved how he came back and wanted them to tie him up again, and used their bra to escape, LMAO. __________________

It was pretty freaky with the worshipping of Homer, especially when Mr. Burns, Smithers, and the Simpson family was coming on the boat and everyone was dressed as Homer with the blue pants and white shirt.
Loved every scene with Patty/Selma and MacGyver Loved that he used the bra to escape __________________

Finally got to see the episode.
Homer making out with the cow made me shudder -- did he even get his iPod back? Wasn't that the goal? Did you notice how RDA mentioned how he escaped? Abracadabra. __________________

I remembered two more things...
The Stargate Convention -- CBG announced Richard Dean Anderson was kidnapped, so everyone started looking for him. Then CBG announced that there was a female at the convention, so everyone started looking for her. Ok, at the very end of the episode, there's this big dance production. Isn't that reminiscent of the Asian/Indian film genre? __________________

This episode is almost dead on with outsourcing. I work for a call center, and this is what we deal with all day. Maybe for the next round of lay-offs we can use Mr. Burns' movie.

Another example of an unexpected moment...when Homer asked Apu what his cousin looked like. I thought Homer would get all frustrated because everyone in India had the same physical appearance. But it only took the second try before he found Apu's cousin.
