"Father Knows Worst" - Episode Discussion
From The Simpsons Archive
Father Knows Worst Episode #LABF08 Homer tries to solve Bart and Lisa's academic and social problems with a bit of overparenting; meanwhile, if anybody is looking for Marge, she's probably in the sauna in the basement. __________________

Sounds interesting. As usual, I'll have to wait for it to hit Hulu.

I liked the couch gag, and what a coincidence that Amazing Race also had a swimming challenge, minus the floating body

Argh, I forgot to mention this earlier....be sure to watch the closing credits. It features an acappella group.

I liked the acappella group during the closing credit. It was nice way to end a pretty good episode. I always enjoy the fatherhood struggles of Homer episodes and last night`s episode was one of the best recent ones.

We saw another glimpse of creepy Moe, albeit in Marge's mind.

I liked Marge and Homer at the end with Marge using Duff beer for the sauna. It was a nice change of pace for Marge to be the non chalant one and Homer be the worried one. at Otto buying all that glue but never a model. I think they could have done more with the helicopter parents theme. __________________

Got to see the episode yesterday.
I liked the couch gag it was funny with them swimming to the couch and then Homer not making it The acappella group was great I enjoyed it! Hilarious how Marge's hair poofed with the sauna heat She had a huge blue afro. It was great when she was thinking what would happen if she told Homer of the sauna that he would invite Lenny, Carl, Moe (being a pervert in Marge's thought) I love how Homer became the overbearing parent with Bart and Lisa. It was hilarious when he was acting like a helicopter Otto by the airplane glue and the cashier telling him that he sure does buy a lot of glue and never buys any airplanes and then gets some and just throws them away after he walks out of the store __________________

Is that a term - helicopter parents?
Now how ironic is it that Homer was dreaming of people like Chaucer and Wilde while building Westminster Abbey? __________________

Wow I thought it was just a made up term
Love how we saw practically all the parents hovering over their kids. I loved it that Homer was dreaming of those people, loved seeing Wilde The blue afro was hilarious __________________

Interesting read - thanks for the link, Pia! We did see parents hovering like helicopters, but Homer actually made the helicopter sounds
