Colin Hanks - The day you broke the news....

OK, so I'm new to this board, so I'm not sure if a thread like this has been posted before.

How did the people in your life react when you told them you like Colin? LOL.

I told my mom "You know who I kinda like, here's a hint, he was in King Kong"
My mom goes: "Jack Black?"
Me: "No"
Mom: "The guy from 'Early Edition'?"
Me: "No....Colin Hanks, Tom Hanks' son"
Mom: "Ooooohhhh, yeah he's pretty neat, is he in any other movies?"
Me: "Yeah a movie called Orange County but I haven't seen it yet"

Then I showed her Colin's last interview on Conan O'Brien (I happen to tape Conan's show every night, but that's another story). After seeing it she's like "Gee, that Tom Hanks' son is a lot better-looking than his father. I never thought Tom Hanks was that....." LOL, though I would disagree, Tom ain't too bad on occasion.

Then my dad, this was about 2 weeks ago, and we've seen Orange County since the talk with my mom. My brother (Ryan) actually told him but I was in the room too.

Ryan: "She likes Colin Hanks"
Dad: "Who?"
Ryan: "Colin Hanks"
Dad: (He turns to me) "Tom Hanks, that old guy?"
Ryan: "No, COLIN Hanks"
Dad: "Colin Hanks.....oh that kid!? The one with Jack Black!?"

So the rest of the day when he saw me he was like "Hey...Colin Hanks", lol, then he'll say, pretending he's a girl, "It's ok, I too, have an undying love for Colin", just to make me smile I guess, haha.

Have you guys had experiences like this?

I haven't really broken the news for anyone, except my best friend. When I saw the O.C-episode (the L.A, which made me crazy for Colin) I said to her that I thought he looked good, and then she kinda laughed (mean, I know), but I've gradually made her change her mind so now she agrees with me, it's much because of Roswell.

I don't think I want to tell my family, really, they wouldn't agree with me so it's better to keep it quiet

The Numb3rs episode in which Colin stars aired recently, and I just mentioned to my mom that he was Tom Hanks's son, and she was like "Tom Cruise's son is that old?". She thought I had said Tom Cruise

I clarified things later on, though

Nobody knows that I like Colin Hanks. Everybody know my favorite films and that I love them but they don't know that I like some people especially

My friends are fans of "Dir en Grey" that's a japanese music group. It's impossible for them to think that you could also like other people

My mother and unfortunately my little brother know that I love KingKong and and I think they know that I... well, that I like Preston

But I never tell people really things like that. Because sometimes they laugh or can't understand it and then I'm angry and have to punch them

So I share my feelings only with people in the internet

I am sure my friends wouldn't understand my Colin-love either since he doesn't appear hot enough for them

and I'm *too old* for that

but I think I'd be more embarrassed than in the mood to punch others

I'd be embarrassed at first but then I'd be in the mood to punch people, if they had been evil, saying evil stuff about Colin. If someone says evil stuff about Colin they'd have to face me

Seriously though, I've only told my best friend cause I know that some other people I know might not like him (cause he's not attractive enough, according to them).

Yeah, I could always try to talk my friend into visiting this site, but I don't know if she wants to, she's not on the internet very often

You don't wanna know what kind of bad stuff my brothers say about Colin, lol. I have 3 older brothers btw (no sisters).

I think it's more an issue with me though 'cause they didn't say bad stuff till they found out I liked him.
