Colin/Music Discussion #1 - Because he makes music even prettier!

I've been thinking about starting this topic for a while. I just didn't know how or why.

Anyhow, whenever I think of Colin I always think of the music from his scenes in Roswell, or from his movies.

My favorites:

"If You Want Me To" by Ginny Owens.

She's a blind Christian singer. Her song is so beautiful. It's playing when Liz won't tell Alex about the aliens. And he walks away from her in the hall of their school. For some reason the combo sent chills down my spine. (And made me a closet True Bluer).

"Let Me In" by Save Ferris

I think this one is a given. The song that played while Alex and Iz "dreamdanced" in "Heatwave" I loved this song so much I used it for a dance performance a few years ago.

"Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning)" by Vertical Horizon

It was the song that was playing when Alex was showing his slides from Sweden.

"California" by Phantom Planet

It's actually on the "Orange County" soundtrack. It always reminds me of Colin, even when I'm watching "The OC".

OK, how about the rest of you.

Great thread. I've always enjoyed the music during Alex's scenes. They really intensify the mood.

"If you want me to" by Ginny Owens is probably my favorite Alex song. I loved that scene so darn much! And the song really fits Alex because he was the greatest friend in the whole show. It just fit him really well. I didn't like the new song they chose for the DVDs. This one was far better. And I never knew Ginny Owens was blind. Interesting fact.

Also, "Let Me In" by Save Ferris reminds me very much of Alex. Though I tend to focus more on Isabel and her beautiful reaction to the dream, I find myself listening to this song quite a lot, and the instrumental with the violins/violas is just...wow.

And "Perfect Memory" by Remy Zero always reminds me of Alex.

I'll be back with more songs. Need to decorate the tree.

like you already said, "Let Me In" and "Perfect Memory" are great Colin/Alex songs
also, "Nothing" - the song that was played in Isabel's second dream in CYN ... even though it's more Isabel centric IMO, it still makes me think of Colin
hm, "Butterfly" by Crazy Town - thanks to OC
"I'll Stand By You" by the Pretenders - cause that was sooo an Alex song ...

... now I only have to think about Colin songs

It's an opening theme of The O.C. and a closing theme of Orange County. I simply love it. It's my Colin-song.

I knew that and I still messed up the song title! I remember my roommate telling me that, b/c she'd always look up Ros songs after the episodes would air. It was from a congenital disease as a toddler.

I've never heard "Perfect Memory". I'll have to d/l it.

I've been listening to "Fair", also by Remy Zero repeatedly, so I'm sure I'll like it.

I d/l "Perfect Memory". Good stuff. Now I have to see it on Roswell.

The commercials for Sam Jackson's movie Coach Carter play a cover of "In The Air Tonight" which the Whit's play in "Blind Date" on Roswell. That made me think of Colin and this thread.

Also I found this in the AICN article that Trude linked to.

I like ska too. I remember at the time I was pretty shocked by their CD's b/c I didn't know they were a ska band! "Let Me In" is actually very different from their usual stuff.

That happens with a lot of artists/bands. They breakthrough with a ballad that's a complete departure for them.

Hmm, is it Colin who made "Let Me In" an almost hit?
