Did Liz really want Harvard? I agree, that he was a balancing factor for them.. and the entire group. Look at what happened to Liz and Maria even when he was in "Sweden"

... yeah, but they wanted to get involved like that (mostly at least) ... but that didn't mean that the humans had to give up their future/going to college ... not even the aliens really had to do that

yah... I think he kinda did realize that in the middle of 2nd season... after getting so caught up in everything the 1st season... even when he didn't know!
