It's time for the annual SyFy Genre Awards to begin voting. They compiled a long list and James was nominated as best Guest Actor for both Smallville and Torchwood. But that doesn't mean he's made the final cut. We will find that out tonight at 10pm EST. You can give a listen and be the first to know here:

Doctor Who and 2008 SyFy Genre Awards

Hey, everyone!

We have Jarrod Cooper on tonight, one of the writers of DoctorWhoNews.com (formerly Outpost Gallifrey) talking about all the changes to the Whoniverse, including reduced seasons of both "Doctor Who" and "Torchwood" next season, despite the fact that both shows are BBC's top-rated scripted shows.

Also, we'll be announcing the finalists for the 2008 SyFy Genre Awards, one of SyFy Portal's biggest events of the year. We'll have a video on YouTube and will announce the finalists in print on Friday, but everyone will hear the nominees for the first time tonight. The SyFy Genre Awards have been around since 1999 and is one of the oldest and biggest virtual awards on the net. Readers can come and vote on the finalists once a day for 30 days between June 25 and July 25, and we gets tens of thousands of ballots each year.

The Genre Awards were part of our original marketing model for SyFy Portal when it was founded 10 years ago. We felt that if we gave people a reason to come back once a day for a month, they would get into the habit and would keep coming back after that. It has been a major part of SyFy Portal's initial growth, and if you Google SyFy Genre Awards, you see how much excitement they create in the Web community.

You can see the SyFy Genre Awards Wikipedia page here: SyFy Genre Awards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SyFy Radio airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT at Internet Radio, Citizen Broadcasting, Social Media Podcasts - Blog Talk Radio

Crossing fingers for James. Twice would be good but then it might be better to get just one (please let it be Torchwood!) so he doesn't cancel himself out against the competiton.

A little too far away for me. But if it was in Europe, I would have been there!

Me too. I mean, how can he lose...he's the only one nominated in 3 series at once!

5. Hey It's That Guy/Girl or Best Guest Star

Jim Beaver as Bobby Singer on Supernatural

George Michael as himself on Eli Stone

Seth Green as Nick Hanscom on Grey's Anatomy

Sarah Chalke as Stella Zinman on How I Met Your Mother

James Marsters as Milton Fine on Smallville, Captain John Hart on Torchwood and Detective Grant Mars on Without a Trace

None of the above

It is now time to start placing your votes at the Syfyportal Awards. You can vote once a day (only once or your vote won't count)
