This thread is where you can put up all fan drawings that have to do with James Marsters and others can give feed back.

I myself wouldn't call me an artist really but I love to draw. As of the last couple of years I have really started to draw portraits of actors, singers, and so forth realistically. I got sick of drawing cartoon type. I did one of James Marsters that I feel is one of my best drawings. Its still a little more cartoonish then what I wanted but I think it came out really well.

Well, I like it a lot. It's not an exact likeness of James but it certainly does capture a certain side of him. That's the cool thing about drawing as opposed to a photograph.

In fact, the only piece of fan artwork that I am aware that James hung in his own house was an "impressionistic" version of him. He said that he would never hang something that looked exactly like himself up because he would feel that was too egotistical...but that this particular work, while he could tell that she had used an image of him, it was transformed into something else...and the whole thing was much more an expression of the artist than of him....so he loved it.

Thanks so much for starting this thread....I expect it will be very interesting. And I hope we'll get to see a lot of "impressions' of James here.

(And Amy, here would be a great place to repost some of your work, too.

Amy I like your drawings. You use a lot of details that bring out the expressions. You get captured by it and can't help but wonder what he smiling at or puzzled about and so on.

It have some new drawings. This first one came out really messy. There was a lot of shadows I wanted and then I tried coloring. It just didn't work out like I wanted. I might redraw it I don't know yet.

This second one I like. It was simple and I didn't have to go over board with shading.

I like that first one a lot. I know a lot of people didn't like that tuxedo's James...but I thought it made him look wonderful. He should have a 007 type movie.

He definitely had the tuxedo look a little bit in Cool Money.

I too like the tuxedo look. I thought it suited him well. I don't understand why people wouldn't like it.

Well, I think they thought it wasn't really "James". That he is much more a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. And I agree with that. But at the same time...the boy really cleans up good. And for a change, I liked the fancy look.

Amy, since I have noticed that we have a thread for computer-generated artwork...I'm going to move this one over there. If your piece has any of your drawings in it, it can be posted here (like in your avatar) but if its more photographs, let's use that thread.
