If Spike movie is a bust then there are the comics

Well, from reading many post on the internet and from the Buffy/Angel magazines that future Spike movie seems to fading away, unfortunely... However; with the recent Spike stand alone comics plus the Spike vs Dracula series, our blondie bear is at least getting another life in print. Any opinions on the question posted.........

What is the question??!!

If you are asking is a comic book story a good substitute for seeing James Marsters bring the character too life...then my opinion is ,"No,it is not."

If you are asking if it is a good thing that so many Spike comics are in the works...I'd say "Yes,it's always nice to know that the money men sees what sells."

Sorry, Kate:

I'll try to clear up the question or rather the statement I made for this thread. I was simply saying that since it looks rather down hill that a Spike movie will ever get made at least the story of Spike or Spike's past if you will be told through another media, the graphic novels. But like you said not be able to see James in his great role as Spike is bad to know or even think about. I just happy that at least the Spike character will least go on through the comics even though the movie thing would be better for us fans of James.

I was always fine with the fact that they we're going ahead with the film. Sure it would have been cool to see him again in that duster, but at the same time I think I was satisfied with how his story ended on the show. I admit I'm not a rabid comic book fan, but I enjoy reading what there is posted on the internet.

And I wouldn't say no to another Spike novel. Chris Golden did a great job on Spike and Dru.

From the Spike comics I have read such Spike: Old Times, Old Wounds, Lost and Found. They seem to be great reading material for Spike. Plus another Spike wouldn't hurt like you said before bailey cat. I was very fond of Spark and Burn...

the 4th in the Spike vs Dracula comic series has just come out. There are 2 artisits who worked on it...one of them is good, the other...not so much. The story seems entertaining tho. And Spike:Asylum is out in Sept. So,yes,we do have little treats to tide us over until we get some really great James news.

That's very true, Kate. I would like to know where you can get any of James old movies. The one he did w/ Amber Benson would be nice.

Are the comics good ? Not a huge fan of comics, but interested to see how these are ? Does the Spike story continue on from Angel or is it continued on from the Buffy ending ? Do tell :-)

GRINT: Mmmh, I don’t know…. I had a little kissing scene before and that was a rather uncomfortable experience. The entire film team is standing around you and watching you. I can’t really say I’m looking forward to this. But it will probably be interesting to kiss Emma.

Thanks kate, by the way any news that James will be returning for Brainic? Got to go to the beach in South Carolina. It was a blast. Plus, I saw a sign saying Drusilla Lane in Louisana. I'm not kiding on that one.

No official announcements have been made recently. I'm rather doubting that he will be returning but I'm hoping he has something up his sleeve that will get announced at the Con. Keeping my fingers crossed anyway.

Just one more week till he does another round of Q&A's on his site. That's always fun.

Hmm. That must be a different artist than the last one. Both Spike and Angel look...not like James and David.

I've seen artwork previews, and the Asylum comic is looking like it should be pretty good
