I would love to see something James has written. He has presented at least one script for network consideration and didn't get anywhere with it. But it was a police drama and centered around the relationship of 2 partners of different races.

Sounds interesting. But tv kinda has enough cop shows already.

I think his would be focused a lot on race relations and the different perspectives the two officers bring to how they view the world. I don't know that James thinks he has answers but he has a real interest in examining and exploring possibilities of making progress in the world.

Tbh I had grown out of Dragon Ball at the time of the movie and I only watched because of James.
I would have loved if he had had anything to do in the writing. |

I like that there is such a range to James' work. You know he can do everything from Shakespeare to Dragonball and play everything from shy guys to serial killers with equal believability. So, was this my favorite of his roles? Nah. But I was happy to see him have something for the kiddies in his body of work.

Does this show have anything to do with the cartoon Dragonball Z?

The names and the general idea, but other than that, it's not. Tbh it has very bad critics but if you forget about the cartoons, it is kinda enjoyable.

I never watched the cartoons but I had some nephews who were really into it. So if I watched this it would all be new to me.

I think that's better tbh. People wanted a copy of the cartoons and the movie was a different take on the story. I watched the cartoons but eventually I outgrew them, so I wasn't as involved when I watched the movie as I could have been when I was a kid. And it's not the best movie ever, that's true, but it is pretty entertaining.

yeah I think a lot of people get disappointed when movies are not similar enough to the books or tv shows they were based off of

I can understand being a fan of a story and expecting something to happen, that your favourite characters show the traits tha you love, all that. I guess it's similar to when you watch a movie based on a book you have read. It's easy to get dissapointed.

Yes. A thing that annoys me is that I have a clear image of the characters and, when I watch the movie, they don't look the same. Still, over time I get over it and I enjoy it regardless
