That is exactly what I was thinking. James is going to blow us away. I hope they keep him around for a long while

I have for a long time dreamed of that he would find a new show to be at regularly. From what I hear of it, I almost wish Caprica could be the one

And then he could start winning emmys for his portrayal as a "charismatic, semi-psycho."

And, seriously, if the president of the network is tweeting about how awesome he is, well then it speaks well of his longevity on the show.

that's awesome in itself! And gives hope for more work for him at that network, regardless of how Caprica works out

I just hope his character is of a kind that can be given a prolonged arch

Very true. SyFy certainly has other shows they could cast him on. And he'd be right at home there, seeing how he is primarily a "scifi guy."

Wish we had more info about his role, but January is still a while away

Yeah, this is pretty much all we have on him:
Quote:
Marsters will play a dangerous terrorist leader by the name of Barnabus Greeley in a minimum of three episodes. Driven by desires both moralistic and carnal, Barnabus is as lethal as he is unpredictable.
That says something, but not much.

it would fit But I also worry it might get him all the more type cast. He needs to do something perfectly ordinary too soon.

I will keep my eyes and ears peeled for more info, of course.

And, you are right, with someone as talented as James people shouldn't be so quick to typecast. He will play someone "ordinary" one day

Thanks

yeah. The most ordinary guy I have seem him as was in PSILY. And then his character in WaT was at least a good guy He has had some roles out of scifi, but not enough yet. (and his one lead role non scifi managed to still be about an expedition on a spaceship)

I think his role on Caprica may turn out to be quite a good one. He says they are re-writing his part (expanding it)...they are all so happy with his work.

Great to hear. Where did you read that, by the way?

How could they not be happy with his work? The man is amazing

I talked to him at Dragon Con in early September. That's what we talked about.

Yup, that sounds much better than an article! Thank you for sharing that info. I'm really looking forward to seeing him on Caprica

Me too. Another thing he said was that someone had given him a copy of the Caprica pilot to watch. He said he had to watch in small doses because he watched these young people doing things vicariously in a sort of video world and it made him so mad. But he likes subversive stories so he's interested in seeing where they are going to go with this.

doing thins vicariously in a videoworld? Wow, that sounds interesting. And wow, that it got to him that badly! Makes it all the more exciting

I have seen the pilot. And, yes, there is some very disturbing images within a virtual reality world. In fact, I am guessing that most of what I saw on the dvd will have to be censored for TV-- that's how subversive it is! But, there is a reason for it.

I'm glad he wasn't scared away by the content He is willing to see where it goes, and I am willing to bet it goes to some seriously interesting places
