it's a bit down my list, but has been there for a while. I figure Caprica might be more interesting if we know BSG?

Yeah, you might enjoy it more if you have an understanding of the "world." And some of the characters from BSG will appear in Caprica as young children (since it is set 50 years before the events of BSG). I don't think you really need to watch, but it might add some enjoyment.

I think you should bump BSG up on your list. Joss is a HUGE fan, what more do you need to know?! :

There were 4 seasons, but they split them up into half-seasons, which is why the show ran for so many years. And the seasons weren't quite as long as network TV seasons. S1 had 13 eps, I think. The other 3 had 20 each. So, 73 episodes total, plus the mini-series that started it all. That will go by fast if you get hooked

I honestly recommend just renting the mini-series if you aren't sure you want to get into the show. You can pretty much watch that as a stand alone movie. And, by the end of that, I was completely hooked. It is part of the S1 box set, but you can probably rent it by itself as well.

Jane Espenson tweeted about 18 hours ago that "Mr. Marsters" would start shooting Caprica tomorrow. Which by my calculations, must mean he is shooting today.

So, I am over a week late in point this out, but Mark Stern, President of SyFy tweeted about watching James in the Caprica dailies...

We have a little more info about his character. Or did we already know his character was categorized as "semi-psycho?" And I take that "damn" to mean he is damn good! No surprise there, though.
