Cloak & Dagger - 1x05 "Princeton Offense" Episode Discussion (June 28, 2018)

Tandy is consumed with getting answers about the Roxxon cover up. To get the answers she is looking for, Tandy tests out her power to gain new insights. Tyrone, on the other hand, is focusing on being a normal kid as the basketball state finals approach.
With so much weighing on him lately, can he truly push everything to the side and win the big game for Billy? Meanwhile, Det. O’Reilly looks into the city’s drug problems to get some answers of her own.

In the new Marvel series, Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) is Cloak, a superhero endowed with the powers of teleportation and intangibility, with a link to the 'Darkforce dimension'.
Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) is Dagger, who can create 'daggers of light', heal people and purge addictions.
Although the pair are from very different backgrounds, they'll have to find some common ground to get the best out of their newfound powers.

I got to wonder who she is going to test her powers on (If they mean vision-wise to get answers)... read the description... but not watching the preview.

I can just imagine arson investigators wondering how the safe got opened.

Granted if Roxxon got wind of a safe being undamaged and files missing...

Seriously, I really love Ty and Tandy scenes. I've already said this before, but their chemistry is no joke! They're talking about basketball and THIS BILLY STORY IS TOO CUTE! Ty is definitely more reserved than Tandy about this whole power thing and how to use it.

I love the announcer talking over both the basketball scenes and Tandy scenes! Also we find Tandy in yet another beautiful dress.

Roxxon's big bad totally has a face now and it's clicking together for Tandy. Interestingly enough it was her touching too many people and looking at their hopes that brought Ty to her. "You checked too many books out of the library and I'm paying the fine" so they really are super connected. Biggest omg of the episode is Tandy pushing Ty off a balcony to give him a near death experience to help trigger his powers AND IT WORKED!

Evita surprise in Ty's bedroom! She really is sweet and does seem to genuinely like him for him and I think they hooked up? She stayed the night and all? I wonder if that was his first time.

She had a smile when she left the office, maybe she was setting him up. It's hard to say if what she snorted was the same stuff Conners did, even if it was I got a feeling she's playing him.

Would have sucked if it didn't... Though he would have been soaking wet for the remainder of the game.

Well she didn't leave town. But obviously didn't come see him either. Seems they got him for some robberies, little weird they got him but not Tandy... does he rob places on his own as well?

I think O'Reilly is playing Connors too. Ingratiating herself so she can gather enough evidence to take him down.

The plot's really getting going now. Wonder if Roxxon has been experimenting with the mysterious energy that gives the Divine Pairings their powers.

Tandy is really figuring this out. I love it.

Great ep. I am more clear on how Tandy & Tyrone's visions work. Btw, Tandy doesn't go to the same school Tyrone goes to right? Does she go to school at all?

Tyrone is still struggling with his teleportation which is understandable but I do like that Tandy knows what can trigger it.

I was laughing a bit at the party where Tandy just goes to touch faces so she can get a vision. I'd be so offended if that happened to me.

But her detective skills are really good, she knew how to narrow down the 'suspects'. I need a reminder but how did she get all those files from Roxxon? Was it the dead bf of her mom who gave it to her?

I think the files came from the Greg vault, but I think her mom may have had some of them.

She sure tried to! But yeah she hasn't tried to help him at all so she essentially left him. I guess he might do some stuff on his own. He must for it to make more sense

I assumed she dropped out sometime in the past? And is she older than Ty?

So have Ty's parents suddenly gone deaf, or is his room soundproofed?
