I totally agree. And it doesn't even always have to be about oustanding chemistry (even though a lot of times it is), sometimes it's just about figuring out which characters work better together, which ones you can imagine having futures together.

Does it annoy anyone else still that SMG was first choice for the S5 Charisma episode? Still annoys me that they were hoping for her return more than they were wanting Charisma's. She only guest-starred in S1 and from then on it was all about Angel and his team together helping the helpless, not Angel's lovelife. Charisma was a main player on both shows but even moreso on Angel so it would've really angered me if she hadn't even appeared one last time in that season. The only episode really worthy of any praise in S5, is the Cordy-based one.

That does annoy me. Personally, I do love season five for all the Spike/Angel moments, and the episode Destiny is great as well, but CC deserved to be first choice over SMG there.

I think the fact that she wasn't first choice, really disrespects what Charisma brought to the role since day one, and disrespects the character's growth and impact on the show.

Luckily for us, that episode proved to be the most well-loved one of the whole season; in fact, for many people, it's seen as the best episode of the whole show. And really, it all came down to the Angel-Cordy relationship. Which speaks volumes and pretty much proves the haters wrong.

I think YW was better because it proved how much good his relationship with Cordy did for his character and his world. Whereas IWRY just emphasised the fact that in this life, he and Buffy aren't meant to be together.

Also, it's important to point out that he CHOSE to turn back time back to before he and Buffy got together; whereas he didn't choose for Cordy to leave him or be in a coma or die.

No he didn't. He choose to end his relationship with Buffy, Cordy was in a coma, it's not like he wanted it to end.

At the time of IWRY, Buffy was the only woman he'd ever really loved. So it's unfair for people to judge based on that how he was at that time. By YW, he'd fallen in love with Cordy. His reaction to her saying she was leaving was genuine heartbreak. DB and CC actually messed up that scene a lot of times because it made them cry so much

They're great friends in real life. It's why I don't get the anti-fan's reasoning behind "they have no chemistry"

Other than that they choose to only see what he had with SMG in their scenes I guess.

They're jsut saying that because they don't want to admit their own ship's lack of chemistry. Or they're out of title ideas.

It annoys me though, when they get others to start believing that. If they didn't have chemistry, I wouldn't have shipped them in the first place.

CC and DB had a lot more chemistry than SMG and DB did in my opinion.

I think they had a different type of chemistry. Personally I thought David looked more at ease with Charisma 'cause they'd been working together longer

And CA had those friendship scenes long before the romance so we'd grown used to seeing them together long before it happened. Also, I thought they actually looked better together.
