Buffy and Angel - Angel episode discussion 1x05: Rm w/a Vu

Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter) lives in the projects, and she's not happy about it. When she returns one evening to her roach-infested digs, she decides that desperate times calls for desperate measures and moves into Angel's apartment. Angel, (David Boreanaz) unthrilled by his new roommate situation, makes a pact with Doyle: (Glenn Quinn) if Doyle can find Cordelia new digs, Angel will help him out with his debt negotiations. Doyle holds up his end of the bargain and finds a stunningly beautiful one-bedroom apartment. At first, Cordy's on top of the world,but she soon gets the willies. Drawers open and close, furniture moves, and the wind blows to and fro. After some research, Angel learns that the apartment was owned by a woman who mysteriously died in the 1950s. Even more compelling is the number of single-woman suicides that have occurred in the apartment since her occupation. He and Doyle figure out that there is a ghost that is somehow murdering the women. While Angel's away doing research, Cordelia is lured back to the apartment and is confronted by the apparition. At first she is overwhelmed,but she later gathers her moxie and sends the ghost back to her rightful place. Elisabeth Rohm guest stars.

Loved this episode so much but the fact that cordy/and angel did not decide to have sex was a lot disappointing

but there was so much to love about this episode that my disappointment over it could not keep me from loving it. maude was one scary ass ghost..poor dennis

Rm w/a vu

The Good;
Everything, an emotional rollercoaster for Doyle and Cordy and the introduction of Phantom Dennis. Great performance from Beth Grant, a great actress you can also see in Speed, Six Foot Under, Donnie Darko etc

The Bad;
Bit of a reach that the ghost can do a perfect imitation of Angel's voice, is she the Terminator or something?

Best line:
Cordy (of Angel) "Do you have mousse? Of course you do!"

Jeez, how did they get away with that?
Doyle's hand getting jammed in the drawer, Cordy almost getting hanged, Maude Peirson walling her son up.

Questions and observations;
Excellent ep with loads of good scenes and some real emotional impact, easily one of the best of season 1. I for one find it heartbreaking that Cordy has only five names in her LA phonebook and 3 are crossed out. Aura, her Sunnydale friend is the girl who finds the corpse in her locker in Welcome to the Hellmouth on Buffy.

I'm gonna give this one 4/5 stars.

This is one of my favorites from Season 1. I think the writing was good, it was funny, and it was just overall entertaining to watch
