What's her username? Can she log in regularly? Does it give her an error message when she tries to post?

We've been having some problems with the latest version of the board (the database error messages are daily proofs of it) so maybe it's because of that.

Just wonderin what 'mia' stands for...been trying to work it out, but then just figured to ask you guys :)

I've seen it being used for some sort of synonim to "missing". I know each first letter is a different word but I can't seem to figure out the convination. I'm unfocussed. I'm sure someone will come up with it!

Malha 11-02-2006 10:35 AM

MIA = Missing In Action. It's a term that was used in the army and is now used on the net to say that someone isn't here or hasn't been around for a long time.

I'm a very new member and I haven't even started to post yet.

These previous thread and next thread really confuse me. Isn't there a easier way to go to new threads? And if a thread is finished and someone says that he'll start a new one. How do you find that new one? Because clicking on next thread won't take you there, right?

I don't understand a lot about this forum but I hope you can answer this and hopefully make me a little wiser...:sadwave:

Hello,

I see your confusion.

The "previous thread", "next thread" links at the bottom of the page only lead you to the thread on which posts were made before or after the thread you're on, in the order you can see them on the main page. It has nothing to do with continuation threads.

Usually, continuation threads have the same title as the original, except they change number so the only way to find a new thread is to search for it by title on the main page. Sometimes the person who posts the new thread leave a link to it in the last post of the old one.
You could also use the search function unfortunately it's currently disabled because of some software problem.

I hope that helped clearing your confusion a little.

Thanks! I do understand better now.

hey guys!
it's nice to be back at FF.
i used to post here everyday about 3 years ago
but i stopped and i haven't been back until yesterday
so i just started a new account.

i was wondering, what happened to the Introduction Thread in the Newbies forum?
I tried to go there to re-introduce myself, but the thread is closed.
is there going to be a new one made?

Malha 11-05-2006 11:43 PM

Hey, Welcome back! :)

The introduction thread is open and topped on the board, here. However, if you used the Index, the link to it was not updated. I fixed it.

jaymeleigh 11-06-2006 09:44 AM

oh okay, thanks!

Someone just asked me if there is a specific limit to the size of picture that can be posted here and I didn't know the answer. Help, please. :)

Malha 11-08-2006 02:38 AM

You mean size in pixels and not bytes, right?

There's no limit per se but it's nice to post pictures whose size won't bother other posters' enjoyment of the board so I'd say no bigger than 600x400 or 600x500. And even that is big when you have a 800x600 resolution.

Berengaria 11-08-2006 12:18 PM

Thanks,Mahla. He's having trouble posting a picture even though he uploaded his to Snapfish....that wouldn't be because he's a newbie, would it? I mean does he need a certain amount of posts before posting a photo?

Hey! :)

Nope, not that we are aware of! The only restrictions Newbies have at the moment is that they cannot vote at the polls until they've reached a certain amount of posts, and they cannot request for a poll. Nothing else, I hope
