Wow, did you all meet on FF, or did you already know each other from before, and live in the same area? That will be one crazy GG-obsessed group!! Whoo hoo, it's nice to see the real, hard-core fans... you can take over the tour guide's job.

We all met on here I think (except Lex and her sis, of course). Kitty and I actually live in the same small town and didn't know it until after we met on the JJ thread.

Lots of details and lots of pictures!

You better hope that the 6 of you don't get stuck with a similar group of 6 ER (or something) fans. There would be a battle over what to see and it might get ugly and violent.

We could see you all on the news!

Well all I saw was ER and Gilmore Girls stuff.. so I guess they'd survive

And BTW.. people had video cameras! And I used my digital camera and they were cool with that.

I had read before that you could not use Digital Cameras or Video Cameras .. but I guess that rule is no longer in effect.

I would seriously keep my digital camera and video recorder at easy access, especially in case you see any of the cast members. Of course you don't want to come off as a crazed lunatic, but let's just say you were filming the lot, and Lauren or Alexis happen to walk by. Oh well, they got into your shot.

lol you're not supposed to use video cameras on the backlot because of copyright, etc.

My dad got told off for using his - kind of like me getting told off last Wednesday night for taking a digital camera shot (not video) at the Dido concert *grr*

The people in our group were totally videotaping stuff on the backlot... of course there was like nothing exciting to see

In my case I was kicking myself the one time that I ran out of film was when my fav tv director drove past me on a golf buggy - I was like bugggger

I reckon the best time to go would be around the time Everybody Loves Raymond is finishing off - which will be sometime between January-March - I would have loved to bombard their soundstage then

I might be able to go to LA mid January. I would really like to do the WB tour. Are these tours booked in advance or can you go on the day itself 'cause I'm not sure who or how many would want to come with me then. I'm the only one obsessed with LG and GG that's why. How much do these tours cost?

Ellevee: Yeah...Well, thank you so much Lauren. You don't know how much this means to me.
Lauren: (Smiles and nods) Bye Ellevee. Take care. Ellevee: Bye Lauren

It says to make reservations, so I'm not sure, you can probably just "show" up to, although you might have to wait awhile...

The cost is $35US for the 2 1/4 hour tour.

No, you can't just show up.. you have to make reservations. Though you can make it a day in advance if they have space. Two weeks in advance is what most people do. It costs $35 for the two hour tour and close to a $100 for the 4 hour tour. And if you take one of the last tours, they usually let you hang out at the gift shop for a while before leaving. I've done it once on one of the earlier tours. Not much to see, but it's cool to hang out.

With video cameras, they'll take them and give them back to you at the end. Digital cameras are cool because you can take videos with them.

Mid-Jan. is good.. they are taping then.

I wanted to take the 4 hour tour. Has anyone here been on that? How was it? We were thinking about going in early February, so hopefully they'll be filming then. I hope we get to visit the sets though.

The 4 hour tours are given on Wednesdays at 10am. They give you a tour of the background stuff.. where they edit, the writers room.. a more thorough tour. They also serve you lunch. I'd definitely call in advance and ask about the tour.

You do get to visit sets.. except when they are filming then the set is closed off to public. You can't take pictures in the front lot where they have the sets and you can't take pictures of the sets. Gilmore Girls is pretty popular.. most likely they will take you to their sound stages. If you mention to the tour guide that you really want to see Gilmore Girls.. they will do their best to make sure you can see the most of their sets. If they aren't shooting in Stars Hollow.. and if it's not dressed up (a festival or wedding), they will let you walk around the square. If it's dressed up for some reason, they will just drive you through it. And I believe they won't let you take pictures of it if it's dressed up.

The tour guides don't know much spoilers..but if you keep your eye out, you may see things that can give stuff away about what is going to happen in an upcoming episode.

The longer tour is great if you are interested in the behind the scenes stuff....wardrobe, dubbing, printing, etc. Our 4 hour tour turned into a much longer one because we had a great guide. The lunch is fun because you eat in a commisary where the celebs and producers, writers etc. eat. So you see all kinds of people you recognize there...extras and people from other studios. Plus, you can sit with your guide and they give you lots of extra info and answer your questions. We hapeen to get a young woman who loves every aspect of the business...she started out working on the Friends set and then decided the guide thing would be more fun. She seemed to know a lot of people both celebs and behind the scenes people. She took us all over. We got to see lots of rehearsals for shows to be taped.

You are also there longer so if a set is busy in the morning it maybe free later in the day. You have a better chance of seeing more. The guides stay in touch by walkie talkies so they know when sets are free.

Our guide knew lots of spoilers so that was great. Just be sure to let them know what you are interested in....they do try to get you to those places.

Keep your eyes open at all times. You will also see lots of people that are from othere studios because they use the vast amount of WB sets/locations.
