Watching the Bainbridge Dinner episode, and I never noticed before how much lists and list-making it a through line for all the Gilmore women. I think of Lorelai and Emily having some similarities, or Rory slowly morphing into Emily's world for awhile, but not a lot unified all three. But, yes, Emily put-a-note-on-it-if-you-want-it Gilmore clearly passed down the label and note habit to Lorelai, who started the Harvard collection and got Rory on her early lists, and Rory, especially young Rory, is obsessive about it. Christopher couldn't list to save his life, and Richard didn't know a hit song from one of his favorite singers. This is strictly Emily's influence.

Not a huge discovery, but really struck a chord with me today.
