I just watched the complete s.1 of Gilmore Girls again and I realized I really love them together. I'm sitting there hoping they'll get married even though I know they wont.

Max and Lorelai are so great together!

You're not alone. I think Max is the kind of guy you can totally love, without thinking they're perfect for someone. I personally think Max is perfect for anyone.

aww those are cute pics. He did make her happy, but in the end she realized he wasn't he one. But the screen time they did share I really enjoyed! It made the first season fun to watch!

He may not have been the one for her, but he was still perfect (IMO). I try and try and try to find a fault (No, his chest hair doesn't count). I can't. He cooks, he's affectionate, he loves Rory, he reads, he's caring, he wanted so badly to be let into her house in 1.08, he was so great. Out of all the guys on the show, Rory's or Lorelai's, I pick Max over all of them. For me, anyways.

I am a major JJ. I love Luke. For Lorelai. But I've always, after S6 more than ever, loved Max, for me, over Luke. The main thing that sets Max above for me is the intelligence. Not saying Luke isn't smart. Just that he's no lit teacher.

I liked the Lorelai/Max pairing, but there were problems.One main flaw in Lorelai's relationship with Max is that he was more intelllectual than she was. He always seemed a bit "above" her to me. Plus, I really never sensed much of an emotional connection between the two of them. Even so, they had a beautiful infatuation.
