I love Melissa and her comedic skills in films, I don't think she's trying too hard, but that's just me? I feel she makes not so funny dialogue funny with merely her delivery, it's just that in GG her dialogue was Amy's genius at work so it was the perfect meld of brilliant comedian and writer.

I love her too and it won't be the same without her, because even though she wasn't a main character she was the biggest supporting character. And she did have scenes on her own sometimes without any main characters present. I'm still holding out hope for at least a cameo - I think her involvement might also draw even more viewers and I do want this to be a success for everyone involved since they seem to be genuinely excited about it and when Gilmore Girls ended they all admitted they were relieved it was over. It's so nice of them to look back on it with new perspective and want to do this right for the fans.

Oh, I think you misunderstood me, sorry! I wouldn't say that the actress tries to hard, but its the sort of movies she chooses. I watched most of them, but while I enjoy what Melissa does with the writing...it's like the writers are trying too hard to show the funny side to the audience, while Melissa has no issues doing that herself. She deserves better scripts...like GG.

I understand, Ingmar. Some of the movies she's been in make it seem that way. Others, I've enjoyed though.

for a cameo! She'd definitely bring in more viewers, for sure! And I get the actors becoming burned out by it all. David & Gillian said similar things about the time they were shooting X-Files and were absolutely exhausted by the grueling schedule but now that so much time has passed, they can take stock with only the good memories left and that's the way the GG cast comes across to me. I can't WAIT to see them reprise their iconic roles again.

Haha, no worries, I got ya. I agree that she has hits & misses but some of the "hits" I find incredibly funny so that's where I stand. Anyhoo, Amy's writing is one of a kind & Melissa did wonders with it, I think we can all agree on that.

Now before everyone goes off about Melissa Mcarthy not coming back.

I know she tweeted out that she was never asked and if she had know sooner she would do it.

Back in 2014 the Roswell cast had a similar situation. We had the 15 year reunion at the Austin tV Festival.

So we had no idea who was going except for hints on twitter. First Brendan Fehr said he was going. Then Shiri Tweeted in response and said she was going. Then later Nick Wechsler tweeted saying he was going. Then Majandra Delfino tweeted saying she was going.

We even had a Roswell fan reunion event at a restaurant near by the night before and Nick showed up because he saw it on twitter. People also went to a Karaoke bar and Brendan Fehr was there and I think Majandra.

Cast members we didn't hear from where Emile De Ravin but she was filming Once Upon a Time.

Katherine Heigle never showed to the reunion and right away fans thought it was because Roswell was beneath her due to her Emmy win for Grey s Anatomy.

However she tweeted out to the fans saying how she was so sorry she missed the reunion because she was away and busy with filming and there was no way she could of taken off to get to Austin for that weekend. Later in the week tweeted a photo of herself with Brendan at an event. It was a nice surprise to all of the fans and it was a treat to see them together again.

Jason Behr we didn't know if he was going to the reunion. We had a feeling Colin was going to be there because he was at the festival for his show Fargo.

So the day of the reunion rolls around

We still had no idea if Jason Behr was going but he surprised us all and showed up to the reunion.

Colin never showed and we didn't know why because Roswell was his big break out role. Some thought oh he is so busy now and he is Tom Hanks son.

Later on Sunday night after the festival ended he went on a twitter rant saying how he wanted to be at the reunion and could of been there if the festival director told him about the panel. His Fargo talk was Friday and the Roswell reunion talk was Sunday. He was so upset that he missed seeing everyone and the fans.

So don't be mad at Melissa for maybe not been able to be there for the new series.

You never know she could surprise you all. Even if she can't I am sure she has a special place in her heart for Gilmore Girls.

I know Colin Hank always did for Roswell.

Thanks for sharing that! Yeah, I don't fly off the handle due to things said on social media, I take that all with a grain of salt and try & refrain from judging because NONE of us know what's really going on. So, on that note, I hope she's in it, but if not, she'll be missed and I won't judge her for it.

I'd be the last person to blame Melissa, or attack her for missing the revival if she's real busy. That said...this situation is slightly different than the Roswell situation. Amy asked her back (via her agents)....and then Melissa posted this really passive aggressive tweet on twitter. I'm not choosing sides, but even if Melissa really wasn't asked back (or just didn't receive the invitation from her agents - which is a real possibility) there was no reason for her to be this passive aggressive. It's childish imo. If she really wasn't asked back, or just missed the invitation...she could have just contacted Amy directly...but no, instead she just went to twitter, for the whole world to see. I still love Melissa and her talents, but this was just unnecessary. So I'm not mad/sad, because she won't be a part of the revival (or maybe she will, maybe they will surprise us), because she's really busy...but I am slightly disappointed in her for being this passive aggressive. Same with the actress who played Liz.

See, I don't think there's any proof to that, that's just what you're assuming happened. It may have been passive aggressive it may not have? Once again, I don't know the exact sequence of events, I don't have the emails or correspondence from agents, etc., so how am I to judge it entirely?

i think what shes saying is though that the mature thing to do would not to say anything at all.

but i didnt see the tweet, what did it say exactly?

if she just wrote "i wasnt asked back" then thats something else but if she wrote something rude then i can see the frustration.
