I don't think that will help get the show back.

I figured there would be a few comments like the "thank God it's over" one you mentioned. It's silly though cause I doubt they will read all the comments, they will most likely read a few and then just look at how many there are so really that person is help us.

Not really any new information. However, there is apparently going to be a Sex and the City movie being made soon, so that news is possibly good towards the possibility of a gilmore movie, but it wouldn't begin for another 2 or 3 years. At least, that's what I read somewhere. Who knows what will come about between now and then...

Unless the start late or skip a year S8 (as hard as it is to type) will never happen, most of the main player have other work and most shows to air in Sept will be starting production about now, if they haven't already. IMO our best hope for more Gilmore Girls is a TV Movie or mini series to air not earlier than May sweeps, but I very must doubt a Gilmore TV movie would air any time in the coming season.

Heike, Lancer and anyone who agrees....No offence but you guys aren't really getting the point of this campaign!

Yes it seems like this campaign only supports another season because it was started out that way. This campaign started when rumours about the show being cancelled were only just starting, back when the rumours about a movie weren't even in existence yet, back when there was still alot more of a chance! But guys, after everything thats happened, do you seriously think this campaign would put their nose up to a movie?! No! We will take anything, in any way, shape or form....just as long as we get to see our girls and town back on our screens...whether it be for a year or only a second.

If we split up the fanbase, one section being the ones that support another season and believe we can get it and the ones that either don't support it or do but just think it's too unlikely to fight for and instead, fight sole for a movie, we won't make as much of an impact on the people that need the impact.

Jericho is an excellent example of this! They had rumours flying about after their show was cancelled that they may get a tv movie. When they sent in their letters and large amounts of nuts, they made it VERY clear that a movie was simply not good enough so they sent in hundreds of bags of peanuts, wrote letters, started websites, did everything they could to fight for another SEASON! They now have 8 episodes coming to them in the mid-season! Imagine if the fanbse had split up?! It was the impact of the fans and how many there were (plus the large amounts of peanuts that were dumped on their doorstep) that convinced the network to give them back their show. I know we can't really compare our situation to Jerichos because of the different circumstances, network and resources but that is all the more reason to stick together!

So guys, if this long and rather corny speach doesn't convince you all that this campaign supports anything and everything, then I'm sorry, I don't know any other way to convince you!

Please stick with us though! I know and so does the Mandate how unlikely and how small our chances of even getting 13 episodes is, we aren't dumb and we aren't dreamers but we aren't going to let this show go down without a fight! Please sign up to the website, take part in the activities, chats and campaigns currently going on! Oh and please advertise the site!

But Jericho was different story also it got more that 100 000 fans to sign a partition we have 5000. The studio wanted Gilmore Girls the leading ladies didn't want the deal they were give, with Jericho the reverse was the case, so the fans made the difference. It's much easier to convince a network to change than an actor.

I would love to sit down in September to new Gilmore Girls but the reality is it is not gonna happen this year, Scott and Melissa are signed up for new shows, Lauren is off doing movies and I guess the others have work or are taking a well deserver break.

How many shows have gone away for a year to return?

IMO our best hope is for a TV movie or Mini Series of 2 or 3, 2 hour shows.

I will continue to support the campaign on my site.

If the campaign isn't solely for getting an 8th season, maybe the wording on the site should be changed. It's not about splitting supporters, it's making it so everyone is aware that fans aren't just fighting for an 8th season. Many fans don't believe an 8th season will occur. If that is the case for some they may not be interested in helping a cause they think is only going to lead to a dead end. For campaigns like sending daisies or even letters, it costs money. Not everyone has money to spare and if they don't feel the cause is worth it, they won't go out of their way to spend extra cash either. This isn't trying to be negative, but realistc. As has been stated, the reality is that a season 8 is never going to happen. Sadly, that ship has sailed. The only hope of revival is perhaps the television movie Amy Sherman-Palladino spoke of. So perhaps it should be stated somewhere that the 'fight' isn't just for an 8th season, but the movie as well.

ITA. We know that the point is to let TPTB know that we want more and that we weren't satisfied with the finale. But I think we should focus our efforts in something that might actually happen, than in something that we all know is impossible. It's fruitless, even if the point is just to voice our opinion. Of course I signed the petition, since there's nothing wrong with it and it is a simple thing to do, and I agree that worst than doing a petition that will lead no where is to do a petition with just a couple of signatures, since it's sending the wrong message, but we all know it won't have the result we want. They may see we want more, but they may think we won't accept nothing less than a season 8, and think that a movie won't do it, when that is not true. I think we are at a point when we take anything in any way, shape or form. But we have to be realistic, and fight for the thing is more likely to happen, than waste our efforts in something impossible. I think that would strengthen the fanbase, since as WandaRose said, a lot of people don't participate more since they see this as a pointless campaign.

I agree with Wandarose as well. I think that the campaign should be a general "We want more Gilmore" instead of necessarily specifying it to a movie or 8th season or whatever. Instead of advertising it so specifically, just simply say it's to bring back a form of Gilmore Girls that would provide more closure. The options would still be an 8th season, TV movie, or mini-series, but the campaign would be general to cover all those bases and not demanding any one in particular. We all know which ones would be more likely to happen, I just hope that our efforts are not fruitless

We don't need to be splitting the fanbase over this, because then nothing will get accomplished.

By the way, if anybody has a facebook, there are a ton of GG groups that have several thousand members. You have to be a member of the group to post a comment, but I think it would be a good idea to post a link to those groups and see how many more signatures we can come up with for the petition. 10,000 is a lot and we are only half-way there. Just a suggestion though
