TFTNT Lindsay! And I'm just reminiscing over the scenes & moments in the OP. Their relationship was so sweet & rich!

I, too, think we were cheated out of a richer SL and wanted to see more Lorelai/April & Luke/Rory bonding! More April/Rory moments would've been sweeter as well! Oh well, too bad they didn't see the need to explore that further because I think that was a goldmine and would've improved the series.

Ugh, I HATED her moving to NM & taking April with her! You're right, Anja, that was very selfish & unfair. Anna could've at least discussed it in length w/ April instead of whisk her away from her life and blossoming bond with her father.

I always wondered how on EARTH April seemed to be as normal as she was with Anna as a mother. I mean obviously she was a little crazy but I'm around middle schoolers a lot and I remember being that age and actually April was pretty normal for that demographic. My mom was just saying it almost seems like Anna has some sort of mental problem--because no one sane turns from being so nice and trusting to saying "I am too mad. I can't even look at you." I mean, that's not just being upset, that's like overboard. I get being concerned, but you can't discuss it in a rational way, like a normal person?

But anyway, yeah... I feel like we were cheated out of SO much in the last season. Considering this was a show about relationships--ALL types of relationships--they really should have worked on making the relationships they'd already started come full circle, instead of just cutting those off and starting new ones. I loved the brief moments we got to see of Lorelai/April, Rory/April and even Jess/April... could we not have seen some of Liz and TJ with April? (lolol) And we were DEFINITELy shortchanged Luke/Rory. Totally agree about the goldmine.

I always thought that once Anna found out what April had done, she kind of thought that maybe that would bring Luke back into her life as well. Finding out about Lorelai made her realize that it wouldn't happen and her feelings towards Luke and the Luke/April bonding changed. Yeah, I do feel also that finding out that a stranger stayed with the girls was upsetting but she was Luke's fiancé and it would have been implied that she would be in April's life as well and Anna yelling at Luke implying that she didn't want Lorelai in April's life was just crazy and selfish as well as wanting to break up the bond that April and Luke had and trying to take away any chance of partial custody from his was not right at all. Luke did become a hot head and his yelling at Anna didn't help any, though. Lorelai kept her boyfriend's away from Rory but if they had gotten engaged, I am sure Lorelai would have made them part of Rory's life. Can't really go by Max and Luke because they were already a part of Rory's life before Lorelai even started dating them All of the relationships that could have been formed could have made for a great story even with ups and downs. I still say that ASP just tried to mess up everything when she didn't get her way during contract disputes, but I also seem to remember that she had said pretty much from the beginning that she never did plan to get Lorelai and Luke to the alter or at least not without a LOT of problems along the way. Sorry this went way OT but one thing always leads to another and in the end, they all relate in some way.

YES to the first part. Haha I've been saying that forever, I don't think it's a coincidence that everything starts breaking down as her own situation grew more stressful. As for the second part, I did find this quote by ASP during the 6th season (actually towards the middle/end) that strongly implied that they WOULD maybe get married...

So I mean, yes, she was implying they might have problems but she was actually saying they probably should just get married, and get it over with.

Sarah - It's unfortunate that the characters had to suffer due to contract disputes. I don't mind spats with producers/writers/etc. cuz it's inevitable that stuff will happen, this is, after all, a business but when they take their crap on the field, to use a sports metaphor, is where I take serious issue with it.

Don't worry, I wasn't around when the show was on either, I mean I do think my mom and I watched the last season as it aired as we were going back and watching the DVDs from the early seasons...but I didn't even really have internet until a couple years ago, and even then I didn't know about/read anything GG related until maybe about a year ago (or less) so I definitely didn't know about any of this stuff as it happened. Even now for some reason I find it kind of depressing to go and read old interviews/spoilers. So I've really only read a few interviews, most of them post-series.

Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, back when my initial Lauren Graham obsession was kicking in tenfold, I read a bunch of stuff, most of it shocking on how much in-fighting happened within the fandom! I guess I'm fortunate I didn't have to put up with all of that BS.
