The ending was harsh. I do like how Rory stays single at the end, it can give us all another chance at our ships

Yeah in that sense open endings are nice, especially if you have ship preferences. You can just imagine your own ending without any ridiculous contrivances.

Hey guys!

Ditto. I hate how they ended, but an open ending definitely helps. It's not a stretch that they would find each other again since they always did.

It was so abrupt! It seemed like they were setting up for something before it came to a halt. Crap. I wish they would have found a better way to break them up than yet more third parties looming in.

The show did love the love triangles from hell. SIGH.

Gah on the love triangles.

True that, Rory and Dean always found each other again whether as friends or lovers. Ruling it out in the future would be foolish

You ever think about how all of RD's perfect moments got ruined right after? In S1 Dean shows Rory the car he's building and they're both so happy on their anniversary. then Rory can't say ILY back and they break up for the first time. And in S5 Rory's lost her virginity to Dean and they're just lying there all giddy listening to "their song" and then Lorelai comes home and she and Rory fight. Not to mention all the Jess-related ruining. It's so sad.

They had lots of good moments just alot of roadblocks as well. Like the I love you debacle in S1 Jess in S2, Lindsey in S3/S4. Not sure what their roadblock was in S5. Even though S5 was shaky for them they still had cute moments in it. I know the ep 'The party is over' their last ep made me cry Dean was so sad.

Dean coming back later in S5 all bitter is worse for me than RD's breakup. That was just uncalled for.

I couldn't agree more! It resolved nothing for Dean or RD and was not necessary. I hated seeing Dean so bitter and angry. It was not a needed scene at all.

Just finished watching 'We;ve got a Pippi virgin' on ABC family anyone else annoyed at how anti-Dean Luke was? I've always been annoyed at how anti-Dean he's always been but in this ep it really bugged me.

Yes. I was annoyed by it, and Luke is my favorite character. Part of the problem could have been that Luke always thought Rory "belonged on top of a Christmas tree" (his words), so his expectations of her having a boyfriend who was a "prince in line to be King" without any flaws were unrealistic. Also, Luke saw Dean pining for her before and during the time when he was married to Lindsay and was hard on him for it, except Luke did the EXACT same thing pining for Lorelai when he was married to Nicole. I think he had a hard time accepting the fact that there were similarities in their flawed behavior. JMO, though.

I really dislike the scenes with Luke - he was being unreasonable.

But I do see how he could've been projecting his own situation in a way. I just felt bad for Dean because he was doing nothing wrong, and unlike Nicole, who was unaware mostly of Luke's real feelings, Rory was willingly participating on the past affair with Dean.

However, they were all in a bad set up from the get go. Worst double date ever.
