So I just saw the episode where Dean breaks up with Rory. I was a little embarrassing the way it happens, but it seemed it was a long time coming too.

They were just too young.

Dean was sweet and kind and wanted to spend a lot of time with her - it would be perfect for 32-years old. But for 16-years old ... I don't know. A little boring. And maybe even too demanding.

So Rory slept with Dean. While I do not think you should sleep with someone else's husband. I feel kind of bad for Rory.

Add me please. I loved Rory and Dean together before the affair storyline. He was my favorite out of Rory's boyfriends. They had a touching scene together in the revival. I am glad there was closure for them and she acknowledges that he was a sweet, caring, and protective boyfriend.

Thanks. They actually had a healthy and sweet relationship before Jess entered the picture. He was a good boyfriend and worshipped the ground that Rory walked on. I am rewatching Gilmore Girls on Freeform and UP, I am skipping the terrible betrayal storyline.

Dean continued to be a nice and considerate presence in Rory and Lorelai's life even after the second breakup and after she broke his heart due to Jess ( before the affair storyline, 3rd breakup). I am reminded how Dean got rid of the spider for Lorelai when he came to return Rory's things, and was always polite to Rory in their conversations. Most of the fandom wrongly demonizes Dean but he acted like a gentleman most of the time, and the typical teenager boy would not have wanted to be amicable towards Rory, after being cheated on and provoked constantly by Jess. Prior to the affair debacle, Dean's behavior was upstanding considering how Rory mistreated him. He also wasn't caustic towards Jess usually unless Jess threw a jab first. There were plenty of episodes where Dean was just there and then Jess started make nasty remarks to him. For example, when Dean went to Luke's to order sandwiches and burgers. Or after they went to the festival, Jess hypocritically had to insult Dean for being around Rory and being close friends with her. Anyway, I wish ASP hadn't tainted Dean later in the series. Considering how hurt he was by the Jess-Rory betrayal, I feel like he wouldn't do that to somebody else. ASP probably pulled that storyline out to degrade Dean so he could be on par with Jess. Then in the revival, she pulls the same move to Logan by imposing an affair storyline even if it was out of character. Anyway, I am ranting a bit off-topic. Rory and Dean's original relationship was a relatively sweet and romantic one. He actually cared about Rory's feelings and adored her.

The "I love you idiot" moment was epic and so romantic! It is shocking how Rory could dismiss all of that later and throw that away. She was so devastated the first time that Dean broke up with her.
