It's sad that he was going to leave the Dragonfly. But I'm guessing he stayed since Lorelai was gonna accommodate his requests.

I can understand that on some level he felt betrayed by Sookie a bit? And it didn't feel like it used to be?

Apparently there was a scene (left out of course) which concluded that storyline where Lorelai and Michel went to the place they purchased. But yes, he stays.

And I really appreciated seeing a more significant role for Michel in this revival!

I assumed he stayed as soon as Lorelai agreed to the spa thing and expanding. Good to know I was right in that assumption.

Love that "angry friend" scene. And, yeah, it's a shame that Lorelai/Michel scene got cut. But at least it was pretty heavily implied he'd stay, given Lorelai was ready to expand the business.

I'm glad focused on deeper aspects of Michel's character in the revival, rather than just the ones that bring comic relief. They reinforced he truly cares about his friendship with Loralai and Sookie, much though he doesn't like to admit it. They even had him randomly be nice to Lane. I smiled when he acknowledge her and Zack in a friendly way when he and Lorealai went to the secret bar. He even hugged Lane when they were leaving the gazibo after LL's wedding (though I'm still wondering if the hug was scripted or Yanic's choice).

I think its scripted even though the lane/michel hug doesn't make much sense

I do agree that it was nice to see him have a story
We didn't get that on the original show apart from his dogs dying?
