I think the finale was a great episode for Lorelai and Rory. Everything was well done, regarding their relationship. I loved that Lorelai was trying to play strong about the fact that Rory was leaving and Rory thought that it was strange. And I loved Lorelai's justification: If she stopped to think about Rory leaving she'd fall apart. That's how Lorelai is and always was. And I loved that in the final episode that was well shown. And I loved Rory saying: You've given me everything I needed. (Great title, by the way). I think their whole relationship comes down to that simple sentence. Lorelai worked hard to give Rory everything she needed, whether it was a friend or a mother. So it came full circle for them. The other relationships on the show are an whole other story..

Although I hated the rift and this episode, I loved the moment when they saw each other here. The combination of the music, their beauty, and their lovely dresses was moving:

Aww I love that scene, such a cute touch and kiss. Rory was being really sweet too there. Being worried about her mom not having enough money!

It's scenes like that that made me love this show and that season sooo much!

I hated the rift too but there were scenes and episodes that I really liked during the rift like that one. I really like the look they gave eachother there, it expressed so much. I think one thing about the rift that was good was that you saw how lost they were without eachother and how much they really do need eachother to keep from falling apart. Although we didn't need a rift to tell us that!

I looooved LG so much more after she expressed her feelings toward that storyline! So cool that the one storyline she actually opened up about and expressed her hatred for was the L/R rift. So sweet that the thing she hated most about it was not getting to work with Alexis every day!

I have to agree with LG when it comes to the rift, I think it made for good drama and storyline but the way ASP did it was very wrong.

I made the L/A friendship appreciation thread header, I made 2 cause there were 2 photoshoots that I loved so I just couldn't resist. Now I need some help picking:

If you guys don't like either of the, I can make something else no prob!

I thought the start in A House is Not a Home was good drama, and made a reasonable cliffhanger - but after a few episodes, it got annoying and not believable.

It's interesting how they paralleled the rift at the end of this year, with Rory facing another setback but dealing with it so differently - and letting Lorelai help. That was a nice touch.

I think ASP took it to far and for too long.

the lasy episode of the series really did sum up the great friendship the two had.

I was bawling my eyes out through all the L/R scenes in the finale... I just love those 2, and the finale reminded me why.

So much so that I had to make a new video about them.

I actually loved the rift in AHINAH. It was perfectly done and made sense back then. Their looks after Lorelai realized that Rory went to her grnadparents behind her back were heartbreaking. It was a great season finale.
But I have to agree. They handled the rift in s6 not very well. Especially the reconciliation. I loved the scene in front of the CS but I still don't understand what suddenly changed. Why did Rory suddenly decide to come home

well i think i understand why rory came home at last, after jess visited her, she realized that the time she was having was useless and realized her mother was right, that she shouldn't take a break.

I think their rift would have made more sense if it wouldn't have been dragged for 9 episodes .. I don't necessarily think that they make-up scene should have had more talk ( it would have been nice, but not entirely needed), because they both new what went wrong. Rory shouldn't have given up at the first setback and gone to her parents behind her mothers back (which for me was what hurt Lorelai the most) and Lorelai should have been more supportive of Rory and not tell her that she couldn't come home if she quited Yale. They both said they were sorry there. Rory admitted she was confused and Lorelai admitted that she shouldn't have ignored Rory for all those months. At least that's how I took it..
