The thread title refers to our most recent decision to continue the LG appreciation on the Gilmore Girls board (really, what's a GG forum without LG?), but make it more Lorelai centric (yes, you can still talk about Lauren!). Whereas, we invite everyone to take advantage of Lauren's growing and dedicated fanbase by taking part in the Lauren Graham Board for more Lauren-centered discussions. I'm sure there's some differences but I think they have a lot of similarities and I think that one thing great writers do like the writers on Gilmore Girls is they start to write your character sort of like you so it's easier for you to mesh and for you to bond with your character and I think they did that with Lauren because sometimes I hear her talk and I'm like- that's how like Lorelai talks like."

We just saw DEAR. I thought it wouldv'e been more centred on the flashbacks but I loved it all the same. Fav scenes were the ones involving Lorelai and Emily. In the past 2 or 3 eps, their relationship seems to be improving. I like. I already hate Nicole... stupid b!imbo with horrible voice.. grr

I'm gonna check out the LG board.. it's like double the fun! (the whole two threads I mean)

I didn't care for DEAR all that much. I liked the flashbacks and the scenes with Lorelai and Emily, but I thought they could have worked a bit more with showing the relationship between Lorelai and Emily in the flashbacks and shown more of Lorelai as a kid.. to see more of what she was like.

DEAR could have been awesome. It could have showed us the aftermath of Lorelai/Rory running away, and Lorelai's feelings, etc etc. Instead they just... ruined it. I would have loved to see Lorelai/Rory walk into the pottery shed, Lorelai drop her bags, and then whisper to Rory "Welcome home, baby." or something like that.

And the young Lorelai? Ok... wait... DEAR is long gone so I'll stop talking about it now [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I liked DEAR but I thought the cuts between the current scenes and the flashbacks were a little jarring. It could have been a better episode than it was, but it was one of the brighter spots in season 3.

I liked DEAR but I agree that it could have been better. I only read the transcripts with the screancaps so I didn't see any promos or anything but I probaly would have ended up hoping for more if I did. I still liked it though... [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Perhaps I need to watch DEAR again, but it seemed relatively unmemorable to me except for:
1) "99 Luftballoons" - a Lorelai association forever now.
2) The stark contrast between Lauren Graham/David Sutcliffe chemisty and acting chops and the young Lorelai/Chris. It's just not fair, I know, to compare Lauren with a young actress stepping in for a few Lorelai moments in a single episode.
3) Crazy blonde Sherri almost giving birth in front of a freaked-out Rory. hee.

I don't care for the actor they picked to play young Chris. It just didn't fit. Young Lorelai was good, I liked her.

Gives us the question.. are we ever going to see Chris again? Are we ever going to see Gigi? Have they fallen off the face of the earth?
