Rory tried to explain that essence, that…something that was so important in that connection in that scene with Paris, talking about someone who complements you. Their playfulness was so in tune with the way the other would react…and it always elicited the exact reaction the other expected…even when the point was doing the unexpected. Whether it was Jess pulling “stupid stunts” or doing magic tricks, or Rory dragging Jess by the shirt or pushing him down the stairs to get to work [complete with “stern face”], the two of them almost stumbling across the street kissing each other while joking about cars hitting them or how much injury they’d cause each other if either wore braces…or Rory refusing to show him her withering stare because she might hurt him and him pulling the pouty face… All of it. All of it is the two of them playing this back-and-forth game of yeah I know you and I know exactly how you’ll react if I do…this!

And the best part of it is…I don’t think they would ever lose that. As long as they had a good relationship with one another…that playfulness would keep being a part of their lives…a part that each one of them treasured (even if they both would find it corny to phrase it so dramatically).

I know I talk a lot about my marriage, and there’s a very good reason for that. It’s by far the best thing in my life. And one of the best things about that best thing in my life…is the every-single-day playfulness. Even when we’re having a bad day. There’s always some point. Some moment with that sparkle, that joking, teasing, this-is-how-I-say-I-love-you playfulness…and I honestly don’t know how I’d get along without it. I never want to find out. It would break my heart.

So, in a very real and poignant way, I emotionally connect with Jess’ words: Just think how dull your life would be without me.

I adore this moment. Jess is so soft and sweet here, but I feel like this is what Jess was like when it was just him and her and that’s why she doesn’t seem so surprised by his more relaxed demeanour.

So on Reddit a clever little bunny has discovered that the guitar music played during ‘the look’ in Fall is the same music played during the sprinkler scene in season 3. This gives me all the feels, I knew that music meant something. Tired of haters trying to say that the look didn’t mean anything.
