and re-watching this old video (I don't know if I posted it here before but the parallels are quite stunning)

and I went down this rabbit hole where I ended up finding out that the background of the song is based on Wuthering Heights and then I ended up looking up Rory and Jess and Wuthering Heights on Google and came across this re-blog on Tumblr

Afterward, she told me how eagerly she was looking forward to watching the next episodes (at our appointed time the following week) and seeing how things unfold. “Because….” she nodded again, “…yep. She’s Catherine, and he’s Heathcliff. I can just see it.”

I've read fics where they compare Rory and Jess to Catherine and Heathcliff so this isn't new to me

Wuthering Heights is on my to-read list as it's also on the Rory reading list

but what I got from the premise is that they're a tragic ship like Rory and Jess

and I don't know if anyone has formed this association before but apparently he's haunted by her ghost in Wuthering Heights after she dies and in a way Jess is haunted by Rory and their relationship because I don't think he'll ever fully get over her
