Rory would be happier with Jess, however IMO she would still miss the world of her grandfather and grandmother. I would even go further. I believe, that in a way Rory is happy, that Logan is a father of her child, because she will be able to stay a part of "high society world" and at the same time she will also be able able to live more "ordinary life style". |
you bring up some really good points
|
I suppose. I guess if they make it a proper love triangle where she has to choose between the 2 she not only has to choose between 2 different men but 2 completely different lifestyles.
But I think the priority has to be redeeming Rory's character and I don't think being with Logan and the world of privilege will achieve that. Imagine if she spends all this time with Jess and he helps her with the book and with finding who she is again, only for her to choose Logan....again. It would break my heart and is beyond cruel to Jess. As for the umbrella scenes, yes it is one of my fave Lit moments too, and I couldn't care less about the LDB palava, but I think it's a great insight into what roles these 2 men will have in Rory's future life. These sorts of things make me smile https://mobile.twitter.com/Catanne96...13374542643201 |
The umbrella moment is too cute.

A couple of beautiful new vids on YouTube
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JLlKXIZdlmE https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AKTghRERWCs I love both of these. I really love the parallel of the first scene they ever had and their first scene in the revival. I am determined that it means something. Oh and I just stumbled upon this one. It's an absolute killer. Get the tissues. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_4eycMfGyIQ |
I just watched She's All That for the first time last night and I really love this fake movie trailer somebody made with Literati

I also agree with you, that Rory is not a good version of herself with Logan. However, I think that Rory is good version of herself around Richard, her grandfather, who also belongs to high society world. They are so close. I just think, that it's really complex issue. Quote:
I could see their grand and amazing love story with very high highs. |

And Amy has always said that this show is about the girls stories, the boys stories just fit around where she wants the girls stories to go. What is best for Jess isn't her priority, even though he probably got the best character arc of the whole show. You don't give a character such amazing growth to leave him alone and pining forever more surely. The vids you have shared are great Dairfan, and it amazes me how many other ones there are underneath them too. I love that people are so invested to make these sort of things. And I found this kind of lengthy post on tumblr, so if anyone questions my attachment to Jess I will direct them here. http://iscahmckrae.tumblr.com/post/1...-boy-character |

Of course the show is about the girls, (not about Jess) and about their choices. But their choices could have consequences too. Making a mistake (I am talking about a mistake in the future combined with past mistakes) and losing someone is part of life. Nobody can't just have it all no matter what. For example Lorelai left Max at the altar and when she met him years later at Chilton she wanted to flirt with him again. But Max didn't want to have anything with Lorelai any more and he avoided her (Max was not a main character, but it happened). Rory could do something stupid (for example hurt Odette or someone else) and lose Jess on the way. And that could be her turning point and beginning of her redeeming. I'm not saying that Amy will choose such a scenario, but I think, that it's possible. |
I'll watch the videos when I have time. Thanks for the links. :)

What the heck :D
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bds5X2_BEgi/ Just found this amazing rant on tumblr ASP’s comment that there wouldn’t be enough “conflict” in Jess and Rory being together is so baffling to me. Amy, do you even know your characters? Here is a helpful list, off the top of my head, of places where conflict AND a Literati relationship can coexist (gasp, shocker): Jess being insecure that Rory is turning to him only because other things in her life aren’t going well Rory being afraid Jess will leave her again Being nervous and not talking and instead seeking advice in the adults in their lives (Rory consulting Lorelai? awkward and moving and a long time coming. Jess talking to Luke? are you kidding this would be amazing. Rory and Luke? better and better. Jess and Lorelai? holy **** television gold) Them both having the bravery to give it another shot Having to face the reasons their relationship didn’t work the first time (can you IMAGINE the quality angsty conversations??? jesus) Discovering what’s the same and what’s different in their dynamic after all this time and how it might not instantly be all great or easy Working through the logistics of an actual, adult relationship with someone they’ve known since they were teenagers Literally anything having to do with more than a decade’s worth of fear, insecurity, lack of communication, growth, tension, and love. For &@&$ sake!!! I’m tired Bravo!! |

Thanks for sharing the rant. That's so true!

IMO Rory can't choose between two worlds, because they are both part of her and she loves them both. But can it affect her relationship with Jess? Maybe not (because she likes his world too), on the other hand if he can't accept that part of her... |
